Just look at Hiccup’s face. The man who drove him insane, committed genocide on his tribe, threatened his girlfriend, tried to kill him and his gang time after time holding his hand like that. He’s dying of awkwardness.

Viggo would be pretty damn chivalrous if he was a good guy, especially when "courting" someone. (He would never call it dating, neither in the Viking era or modern.)

Well, our genius is also very clearly sleep deprived! Viggo has definitely made weird mistakes in the middle of the night and is grateful he's the only one awake to have witnessed that. During the day? Depends on his current sleep debt and his stress level, but he definitely has done silly things that Ryker gets on his case for. Like accidentally putting his charcoal in his drink. I can definitely see him looking for something he's already holding as well, and Ryker just watches in amusement as Viggo gets more and more frustrated. Finally, Viggo gets angry with him.

"Why aren't you doing anything, Ryker? I need to find that damn map!"

"It's in your hand."

"What?"

"It's been in your hand this entire time."

Viggo would then realize this and want to sink through the floor and disappear. Ryker thinks this is the funniest thing ever.

well i clicked and turns out it wasnt him but i drew sideburns so i could act like its him

And then a few hours later, I opened my notes and was like ??? because:

I think the idea was that Viggo captures Hiccup and has a fake foot made for him (like a wooden one carved in the shape of an actual foot that he can wear a boot over), so that when the riders come to rescue him, they won't recognize him because he's got two legs. 🤣

Why do I kind of want to write this as a crack fic now?!
