Some of y'all love and want complex characters until they're poc, especially if they're Black, and it's showing big time with the Gen V fandom as of late. Mind you, all the main characters such as Cate, Jordan, and more are also responsible for some of the problems but this fandom is very quick to brush that aside (especially for Cate because white women can do no wrong), saying they've changed or that, in this verse, it's important to have flawed characters. Which it is of course, but as soon as Marie makes a mistake(s) suddenly she's the devil incarnate and is getting lashings left and right. I'm not saying you can't criticize her because there are valid points to be made. But if you're criticism is LARGELY different than what's directed towards the other characters then it becomes part of a larger problem.
