Status at the circus: Holly and Jax are practically glued to the hip, causing mischief everywhere they go while also bickering back and forth with one another. She has no interest in forming close bonds with anyone at the circus, but with Jax it felt different. True, they both hated each other upon meeting, but the hateful comments and swears turned into somewhat playful banter, which led them to becoming partners in crime.

Pomni (Poms): “She’s alright… kinda f^&^%$% short.”

Ragatha (Ragu): “Everyone says her hair looks like licorice… I say it reminds me of spaghetti noodles. Mmm… f&%$ I want spaghetti…”

Gangle (Ribbons): “Jax seems to like picking on her the most. It’s kinda f^%$&^% funny. Sometimes she doesn’t deserve it, though… I still laugh.”

Zooble (Zoobs): “They’re pretty chill… Kind of a grump-a^&.”

Kinger (Pops): “I can’t really say anything bad about him. He’s actually f&%$& great.”

Caine: “This guy really gets on my f&%$^& nerves. I like picking on him. It’s f&^%^& hilarious.”

Jax: “...hate him…”

“It has been one month since we conducted our bodily healing tests on 001. Her wounds didn’t heal for quite some time… It took an entire month’s time for the wound to fuse itself shut. Quite interesting… Some of the other test subjects were able to heal in days… The cuts we made are now ugly scars across her torso. All the other experiments didn’t have this much physical deformity after injury.”

He walks over to a table, where 001 is currently powered down.

“Today we began the first physical transformation process. My team is currently working on her jaws. Her fangs are tiny and pathetic, but after my team is done, she’ll have rows upon rows of razor sharp teeth. We sliced her entire jaw open, which might seem a bit gruesome, but it’ll give us a chance to add an additional four rows of teeth to her inner jaw.”

“If all goes according to plan, her jaw will heal within the month. She should be able to unhinge it with ease, which will help her ingest metal.”

“OH! I do think I should mention that for the record. The serum has changed 001’s diet. We had tried offering her berries, the kind of which she would normally eat on her home planet. But she denied it. So we gave her a handful of trashed screws and a small bowl of oil. She had tried eating the screws, but her teeth weren’t doing much to them… The oil, on the other hand, was gone within seconds. She lapped it up.”

He sits himself down in a chair just a few feet away from the operating table.

“Anyway… getting back on track here. 001 has been cooperating more recently. It’s probably the shock and fear finally wearing down. She follows without resistance and already knows what to expect when getting on the operating table. Such a sweet thing…”

His eyes narrow as he keeps his gaze on the powered-down drone.

“She is by far the most successful of our experiments… And for that, I am truly grateful. We will continue to infiltrate other planets and broaden our array of species…”

His gaze drifts over to a stack of three other drone corpses; each one a different species.
