this is a strong contender for the funniest fucking thing Iâve ever seen
The fact that the silmarillion is still compressed into one film is the funniest part of this

Lovely.
What a punch
This is assault and illegal. He may spew nothing but bile but his right to free speech must be protected
Ainât nobody throwing him in prison, so his freedom of speech isnât being violated.
Also, learn what speech is exempt from it, like, for instance, fighting words. Words that by their very utterance inflict injury, and speech that incites an immediate breach of the peace, kind of like, yknow, saying you want to exterminate all of their kind of people. Basically, talk shit get hit is 100% protected.
I swear people that yell about Freeze Peach have no idea what it means. If you provoke someone and then they act on that provication, then itâs on you, not them.
Freedom of speech just means the government canât tell you what to say.Â
Freedom of speech isnât freedom from consequences. Itâs your right to say what you want to say, and itâs my right to knock you the fuck out if I donât like what youâve said.
Big Mood
tadano says down with the patriarchy
Iâm looking through the aggretsuko tag and yikes I feel like Iâm the only one who dislikes Tadano.
I thought at first that he was cool, an okay dude. And then eh, ok his ideals donât matchup with Retsukoâs- it happens. But then he started to become oppressive and basically tell her what she should do and quit her job and just stay with him. It felt like he was trying to get her to submit and trying to make her quit her job so sheâd have to rely on him economically too, all without any sort of contract (like marriage). Like at least she had a contract and stability at work.
And then I read some people being like âI didnât like the ending of this season, itâs taking women back and enforcing outdated concepts like marriage.â
And I literally felt the rage lol. Not only does this view completely ignore that sheâs essentially become a trophy wife without the wife part, she would lose her âworking womanâ status and economic independence as well. I thought feminism was all about women getting to choose what they wanted. Retsuko was obviously being pressured to conform to Tadanoâs unconvential worldview. She obviously wanted marriage and kids and articulated so. So itâs kinda heartbreaking to see people shitting on her (or the writers of the show) for making a choice via her own free will based on her desires just because it doesnât fit into their âwokeâ worldview. Some women want to get married and have kids and make that the center of their life, so stop shaming them for making that choice. What matters is that they actually have that choice and Retsuko did. Itâs not bad that she wants a traditional marriage and kids.
i made this 24 hours after season 2 aired

Something I Noticed in Detective Pikachu
Tim and Lucyâs relationship didnât actually bother me. I went in expecting to be wholly turned off by their interactions, but actually walked away feeling neutral to the idea of a potential romance and positive towards their professional friendship in future endeavors (I mean, feral reporter with nice by-the-book detective is a very nice working relationship).
So it got me thinkingâŚwhy? What did Detective Pikachu do right?
And then it hit me.
One of the core themes of the film was the idea of loneliness and the need for bonds with others. These bonds come in various forms across the film, the primary two being the pokemon-human bond and, of course, the father-son bond.Â
At the beginning of the film, Timâs friend expresses concern for him. After all, Tim is obviously lonely, and only doomed to further isolation as his friend group leaves the aging little town for bigger, better things. So what does his friend suggest? A pokemon partner, of course.Â
Within the context of the world this is both natural and normal. However, contrast that for a moment with how it would be handled in any other film: Tim wouldâve been set up on a blind date. It wouldâve gone horribly, horribly wrong of course, with the woman in question probably being portrayed as a shallow, two dimensional cutout of a person that of course doesnât gel well with Tim.Â
The difference between these two situations is actually really crucial, because itâs essentially putting a platonic relationship in the place where romantic relationships typically go.Â
So what does this mean for Lucy? It means that Lucy can exist without being the trophy of a successful male character arc. Even if they got together, the romantic relationship is not the emblem that Tim is no longer lonely, because Tim has already achieved that in other forms.
Lucy actually gets to be her own character. As campy and cheesy as her character might be portrayed, she has a very clear set of goals, takes the initiative and gathers information that Tim wouldnât be able to get otherwise, and successfully achieves her goal onscreen when Tim isnât even present.Â
Her relationship with Tim is work first, with romance as a  footnote for when the world is no longer going to end. Even Tim describes her as âthe woman I am highly attracted to,â instead of âthe woman Iâm in love with,â and hasnât so much as asked her out on a date as of the end of the film.Â
(That quote also stood out to me because Lucy is consistently put down for looking too young and too pretty, that Tim referring to her as a âwomanâ rather than a âyoung womanâ or âladyâ or âgirlâ really reemphasizes that he sees her as an equal.)
So yeah, there really wasnât a need for that romantic subplot, but also it was barely even a romantic subplot. It was just a couple of young people who are mutually attracted to each other but are overwhelmingly focused on the plot at hand, and donât particularly let that attraction sway their judgement.
Conversely, it should be asked if, by removing the female lead and romantic bond as the primary important bond, that sets up the pokemon partner to be a trophy in the place of the female character? It definitely could have, except that the entire story hinged on the emphasis and re-emphasis that Pokemon are unique individuals who should be treated with care and respect. The pokemon partners across the film got significantly more characterization and development than a lot of female characters across various action films.
Find me any other action flick wherein the straight romance takes priority, and the majority of the run time is devoted to subtly emphasizing how incredible and unique and kickass women are, and the importance in cultivating a relationship of mutual trust and respect.Â
tl;dr Detective Pikachu completely ditched the âromance is the most important bond of allâ mentality in favor of a healthy platonic and familial ones, which in turn gave both the potential romance and Lucyâs character the breathing room to avoid relegating her to a sexy lamp.
IM FUCKING SCREAMING BRUH
A quick word about Detective Pikachu
Yeah, I rolled my eyes a bit at the ubiquitous âmisunderstanding separates the charactersâ trope in the second act, but I do appreciate how it was done.
Usually the character affected by the misunderstanding or betrayal will push the offending one away, lots of âhow could youâ? âI trusted you!â etc. But Tim, who has every reason to be distrusting after what heâs seen, never even considers it. His first reaction is âNo, there must be reason. Letâs look into this.â
Meanwhile, itâs Pikachu who is horrified. He opts to leave rather than cause Tim any more pain. He would rather never see him again than even give himself the CHANCE to hurt his partner.
I dunno, maybe Iâm just a sucker for the âstay away from me, I donât want to hurt youâ trope. That shit is like my cocaine.
Hey watch the new snapcube video that Iâm in where I say the worst shit and Alfred and Penny have to listen to me say it
