I'm Rory. My interests are everything. Not really, but here's a list of what I've been focused on lately:
The Toronto Blue Jays/baseball
Formula 1 (don't worry about my favourite drivers, it's embarrassing)
Learning to code (Java)
Learning basic linerar algebra (vectors and matrices)
Theatre, conceptually
Biology: emergency medicine/paramedicine, and various animals (entomology (lepidoptera), marine life, birds)
Pokemon, a little bit
The Habs, a little bit
Wrestling (AEW), a little bit
I love synonymity and forming connections between things. I've been told I'm always rhizomemoding. Right now, these are mostly:
Objects: object/subject relationships, object-oriented programming, geometric objects in spaces. What do these have in common? How do we use object to define something with consistent traits and relationships to other structures (desire, subjectivity, class, methods, vectors) while part of the definition is that those traits vary?
GOATed asshole (actually very nice when not locked in, but plays up the "psycho" thing) athletes named Max
The concept of a Zone and how it relates to performance and immersive environments
My actual academic degree I'm almost finished with is in theatre (performance creation), but I love taking classes on other things and talking to people involved in other fields. I love picking the brains of paramedics and programmers.
I liveblog and shitpost about sports on a sideblog, @scherztappen.
Please talk to me about whatever! Anime, video games, sports, music, new media theory, theatre, computers, paramedicine, canoe tripping, Deleuze, 70s media... I'm always curious about lots of everything.
