So I just had a thought…

Just because a spec people may not feel the same attraction you do (you in general asfjhcj) doesn’t mean our attraction feels less than yours. Our attraction is just different from the allosexual and/or alloromantic people.

So, whether or not a-spec people feel ‘only’ romantic and aesthetic attraction or sensual and romantic, or sexual attraction, but not romantic, etc. or whether they feel platonic attraction and sensual etc. (a mixture or non) doesn’t mean our attraction is worthless. One form of attraction isn’t more important than the other.

Everyone has a variety of different combinations of attraction.

Also romantic/sexual orientation can fluctuate like greysexual/romantic, demisexual/romantic, or (among others) ace/aro flux

The thing about being aro-spec that I think allos need to know is how the romantic world hurts you. Like they make you feel broken and left out and then once in a blue moon you get a romantic feeling and they get excited for you and encourage you. And they decide you’re finally not broken. They make you fantasize about all the things they want for you: dates and kisses and all that shit you usually don’t care about. They do it until you like the idea of being attracted to a person more than you’re actually attracted to the person. And then when it all crumbles because you’re not built for this. You are back to broken and more than anything you are angry because you fell for it again. That you gave up on the deconstruction you had been working on. You fell for someone else’s dream again. And it crumbled to ash in your hands because it’s not yours to have.

Me telling someone I want them to be more confident might’ve just ended our relationship hm
