“Good news is hard to keep quiet!” Molly exclaimed, understanding how hard it was to keep a secret especially like that- Molly herself was terrible at secrets. “Are you excited?” 

“Perhaps, but I believe the choice should’ve been mine whether I wanted to share it with others or not,” Lysander explained. That was his personal matter and he didn’t think it was anything that would interest other people. “I’m… I’m eager to see what’s this all about,” he said carefully.

“I actually had no idea about your training, I mean I don’t even know what you’re training in but-… congrats?” Casey offered somewhat awkwardly. “I was just wondering if you had seen a little leather bound journal around, I think it fell out my bag and I was over here before.”

Lysander was silent for a moment and decided not to mention anything additional about his training. If the other didn’t know any details, that was fine with him. He nodded in thanks to her awkward congratulations. “I handed it to the people behind the counter. I believe they should still have it,” he said simply when she asked about the journal he had noticed while sitting down.

“I mean you’re doing training in the place that I work to be what I am-” Lorcan pointed out to his brother, arms moving to cross over his chest, “Kind of hard not to hear about it when those are the circumstances.” He chuckled, smiling at his brother before nudging him lightly with his shoulder, “I’m happy for you though, wasn’t aware becoming a healer was something you really wanted to do, but then again we don’t really talk about these things much. Want me to give you some pointers? Be your mentor?” He teased.

Lysander immediately took a step back, looking at his brother as if he wasn’t sure if what he just heard was real. He could feel his hands forming fists and he was certain he looked furious. Lorcan struck in the majority of his insecurities and it took everything within him to not punch him. “I don’t want anything from you,” he hissed. He hoped he was not shaking from anger, he didn’t want to give his brother yet another reason to mock him.

“Nah, did you not know it’s in all of the papers, all over the blogosphere, even heard that they’re thinking about having a parade in your honor.” Margot teased the other with a smile on her face. “I was actually just looking for directions, are you far enough into your training to tell me where room 103 is in the east wing?”

Lysander narrowed his eyes, not pleased with the other’s comments. He hoped she was joking, he didn’t need any more attention. “It’s on the first floor. You need to turn left once if you take these stairs,” he pointed at the staircase nearby.

“You do know where you live right? Just be glad it wasn’t the gossip witches since they seem to have a knack for making everything into a right shitshow.” Hunter answered. “At least it’s a good thing for people to be gossiping about.”

“They already tried bringing me down and yet here I still am,” Lysander said quietly. He supposed it was a good thing though, at least they didn’t have anything else on him this time. “It’d be best if people just focused on themselves though.”

“This isn’t gossip though is it. This is great news! I mean, healer work is hard from what I’ve heard and you’re there. Doing it. Being a life saver.” Mason spoke with enthusiasm as he clapped the man on the back. “I mean, that’s a yay you moment if ever there was one right?”

Lysander straightened his back and was going to hiss at the other for touching him, but he couldn’t make himself do it. “I’m not on the whole ‘life saver’ stage yet,” he pointed out. “But I’ll get there,” he added quietly, but firmly. 

“I haven’t been allowed to keep Niffler’s in the flat for a while now, Matthias has a strict no Niffler rule.” Not that she could blame him after a lot of things started to go missing and it was due to the fact she had brought a particular sick Niffler home to ensure it was getting better. “I’ve sort of been keeping a pretty big secret I guess-… and I guess it’s came back to bite me in the butt and I don’t know what to do. Or how to feel. I’m just… on edge all the time and I don’t like it.”

“And you’re still with him? Colour me surprised. I would’ve thought that’s not something you would ever agreed to,” Lysander said with a shrug. He was not going to spend his time wondering why Ariella was dating the other guy, but he was still surprised. “Do you want me to say that everything will get better? Because I cannot really say something I don’t believe in.”

“Give it a few days and people are going to focus on something else. They’re already talking about the bank robbery so they will forget about you in no time,” Wes said with a shrug. He didn’t think of himself as an expert on gossip, but he had dealt with fair share over the years and everything always followed the same pattern.

“Better sooner than later,” Lysander commented. He just wanted to do his thing and not bother with people coming over and distracting him. There weren’t many people that he liked spending his time with, so anyone who was not them was wasting his time.

“Maybe people just want to congratulate you,” she said softly, placing her hand on the top of Lysander’s to calm him down a little bit. “They’re going to focus on something else in a few days and will leave you alone, I’m sure of it.”

A gentle smile appeared on his lips, like always when Poppy was next to him. He moved his hand slightly so that his thumb could easily caress her palm. “I hope they’re going to back off. I don’t want anyone to make it more difficult than it has to be,” he said quietly.

“I’m not gossiping, I’m congratulating,” James said, “Lys, it’s amazing. I didn’t even realise you were interested in it.”

Lysander tried not to sigh. There was an obvious reason why he never pursued that path before, but he wasn’t one to share that information with other people. “Thanks. It just... happened,” he said finally.

“So I need a brooding partner and when thinking about people who could be said problem, well only your name came to mind.” Ariella commented as she sat down by the other and sighed. “You also don’t get a say in the matter because I’m sad, so therefore as my friend- yes you are my friend, you just have to deal with this for at least thirty minutes.” She continued before finally finishing off with sad puppy eyes, “Please.”

Lysander was going to protest, but in the end he found himself sighing and nodding his head. “Is there any particular reason why you’re sad, or is it one of those days when you were reminded you shouldn’t keep Nifflers at your place?” He raised an eyebrow at the other.

lorcan: no, not recently. at least your relationship status is probably a lot better then my break up which they still question me about.

lorcan: and go where, canada?

lorcan: actually, don't answer that.

lysander: well i don't plan to talk about it so tough luck

lorcan: neither do i, but if they ask about relationship questions i could pass the conversation over to you. i've ignored them the like past three times, i feel like i can't ignore them anymore.

lysander: have you hit your head? talking to them about my relationship is the last thing i'd ever do

lorcan: i mean you can but it's just going to make me roll my eyes at you, come on. i will distract them so you can escape when they offer dessert or something. i just don't want to be questioned alone.

lorcan: what are the chances of you showing up to a family dinner? like a 1 out of 10 rating?
