She sat in front of her. Eyes closed. Waiting A sight that Nancy, unfortunately, does not see very often. But now they were sitting together in Nancy’s room. A window was open and a pleasant breeze blew in while Madona’s ‘Like a Virgin’ played on the radio. “Hey, Nancy? Are you there?” asked Robin and opened one eye. Nancy smiled sheepishly. “I’m still thinking about which colors to use. After all, I don’t want you to look like a clown.“ Robin had a date. That was the reason why she was now sitting on Nancy’s bed. Nancy didn’t know who she was dating and Robin didn’t want to reveal anything. Steve probably knew more, but he would never talk. Steve was far too good of a friend for that.

“I have complete confidence in you, Nance. At least more than in Steve.” Nancy laughed before picking up the brush and dipping in the first eyeshadow. She chose a deep blue that was only a few shades lighter than Robin’s dress. "This would be a lot easier and quicker if you didn’t fidget so much.” “Sorry! But the brush tickles!” Robin laughed and tried her best to sit still and Nancy tried to keep her head still by holding Robin’s chin. Nancy tried so hard to concentrate on applying the eyeshadow that she didn’t notice Robin’s breathing quickening and her cheeks getting pinker.

Once she was happy with the eyeshadow, Nancy grabbed the nearest lipstick she had and painted the lips of the woman across from her. It wasn’t until the lips were completely painted that Nancy realized her mistake. There was nothing wrong with the lipstick itself. The color went beautifully with the look and it suited Robin beautifully. Robin looked wonderful with red lips. Cherry Red Lips. Why did this lipstick have to be called 'Kiss Me’?

Nancy bit her tongue before doing anything rash and reached for the hand mirror. "I’m done,” she announced, holding the mirror out to Robin. Nancy watched as Robin looked at herself in the mirror in astonishment and began to feel a slight tingling in her stomach. But when Robin looked up from the mirror and looked at Nancy with a big grin, her heart stopped for a few seconds. “I love it!” said Robin happily and hugged Nancy. “You’re the best!” The only thing Nancy could do was force a smile.
