* where most often do you end up making art?

For any digital art always start on the couch under a pile of blankets, they if I end up working really late (I usually do) I move to my bed laying down. Horrendous posture throughout. For non digital pieces then at my arts and crafts desk or on the floor.

* how often do you warm up before starting a new work?

I fear I almost never warm up. I get my refs and might compile like really shitty concept sketches if that counts??

* what are you doing/where are you when you usually get new ideas?

Listening to music always helps, often scrolling Pinterest for pose or scenery references. I also try to think of ideas during down time at work lmao, might as well get paid for it.

* what part of making a new piece gets you the most excited?

Getting the sketch/base right and exactly how I look is my favorite part, and also the finishing touches of course.

* do you have specific rituals/music/candles, etc. that you engage with to get you in the mood to draw or paint?

Always have music or ASMR going, love a good hot matcha always, but no particular rituals!

* have you done stuff en plein air, or do you prefer to work inside?

I used to a lot more when I was younger, I do prefer to work inside now tho, maybe things like friendship bracelets or more crafts outside!\

* if you were to be restricted to one physical medium for the next two years, what would you pick?

This is gonna sound absurd but cardboard. I fucking love building sculptures and cosplay props with cardboard. It's always my go to for physical media.

* do you keep new work ideas written down somewhere or do you just hope you’ll remember later?

I text myself incoherent reminders of ideas I have and see if I can decipher it later.

* what do you most want to be working on vs. what you actually end up working on?

I really should be working on anything but I'm a bit too exhausted to do any proper art rn, I find it hard to work without an active hyper fixation which is always a struggle.

* what’s your favorite piece(s) you’ve ever done?

My Rumplestiltskin dragon design from last year I think is my most detailed render of all time, that is my Mona Lisa. I also have a Mrs. Fletcher painting from years ago, it's this tiny square of acrylic painting that genuinely looks so realistic I have absolutely no idea how I did that. Also the reverse bear trap I built for my SAW cosplay is perfection.

* which part of a new work do you usually find yourself criticizing the most once it’s finished?

Shading and coloring, I always feel I have trouble shading and lighting things especially skin.

* have you gotten a piece of feedback about your work that you think about to reinvigorate your process?

My mom always told me to be bolder especially with shadows and contrast and I think it's really helped me improve. Also the classic "Do it first, make it good later" always helps, as I have struggles with perfectionism a lot.

* describe the next piece(s) you want to finish.

Absolutely no clue hon, could not tell ya. I do have this human heart embroidery that's been on pause for ages and a Marooned (the Robert Carlyle short film) still life acrylic painting that I started last year but who knows, it'll be whatever I feel like doing. Might be Hacks fanart tbh.
