Lynx - Adventures in Marvel 616-Eh

First and foremost, I'm new to posting on tumblr so sorry if this is just ugly as hell until I figure things out a little. Hello! I've begun writing some fanfic stuff on AO3 and I figured having a page here to share links to stories as well as non-story stuff regarding original characters et al could be interesting.

As a super quick summary: the universe the stories are set in is largely based around the Marvel Comics 616 universe as of early 2026 (because I read the comics on Unlimited and am thus three months behind real time), though obviously some characters may change a little because it's me trying to write them instead of official Marvel writers and all of that. And original characters showing up. The protagonist of the stories (so far, that may shift to a more shared role) is a Department H stealth ops agent named Chesley Mercer, aka Lynx. He is, at the start of the story, 22 years old and has a physical skillset similar to that of a standard Marvel supersoldier; enhanced strength, speed, durability, endurance, healing, etc. For comparison's sake, think a smaller, faster, not quite as strong version of Steve Rogers... if Steve Rogers was a neurodivergent farm kid from eastern Ontario.

Some canon-ish Marvel characters/organizations that are important factors in the story to date (and planned next installments):

Kate Bishop, aka Hawkeye, aka The Better Hawkeye (depending on who you ask).

Department H - the morally grey organization that works to protect Canada and manages government-regulated superheroes.

Alpha Flight - Ches isn't a member but he did train with much of the team. Puck owes Ches money.

The Avengers - because this is Marvel and they're kind of a big deal.

I do have stuff marked as Mature, though to this point other than some comic book-y violence and tension of both the romantic and "oh crap a bomb" type it's not graphic by any means, I think.

The first chapter of "These Bright Lights", the fifth story in my ongoing series on my character Lynx in the Marvel 616-Eh universe, is now up on AO3!

This one is rated Mature for partial (and later full but non-explicit) nudity, comic book violence, butt jokes, dick jokes, sex jokes, off-camera sex, and Eugene "Puck" Judd.

The five following chapters will be posted weekly (possibly at a sped-up rate depending on how quickly I finish the sixth story that I'm currently working on)!

We've seen adrenaline songs, we've seen heartbreak songs, we've seen the most stereotypical option possible for a farm kid from eastern Ontario, how about some anxiety music?
