Like, me and my sister went to a museum, and they had an extra exhibit of butterflies. But it cost £3. So we sighed, walked past, then stopped. We each had £3. We could see the butterflies. And we did it was great. We followed it up with an ice-cream as well because Mum and Dad weren’t there to say no.

I was driving back from a work trip with 2 other people in their early 20s, and we drove past a MacDonalds. One of the others went “Aww man, I’d love a McFlurry.” And the guy driving pulled in to the drive through. It was wild. But it was great.

I went to a park over the weekend and I was thinking “Man, I’d love to hire one of those bikes and cycle round the park.” It took me a few minutes to go “Wait, I can hire one of those bikes!”

Phryne, with gallows-humor glibness, is very specifically pointing out that her behavior is not the reckless self-indulgence of the idle rich but very much a deliberate and cogent response to the experience of surviving serving in the front lines of a world war where modern machine guns and chemical warfare gave even more stark clarity to the senselessness and cruelty and exploitativeness of war and nationalism and authoritarianism.

And Jack is going - you're right. We have admittedly chosen to respond to Surviving That Shit slightly differently, but perhaps less differently than outward appearances might first suggest. We each have our own methods and principles, but you are right that we are not very different at all, underneath, and for very good reasons.

And also yes eating out of her hand like that is incredibly hot too, yes there's definite commentary to be had on gender roles and dominance etc. but it's easy to get distracted by how good Nathan looks in that scene with those damned eyes eating off that fork, when the real critical moment is just before when he looks so old and weary as he understands what she's saying and doing... and then visibly realigns and comes alive again because he too survived and by god neither of them are going to let the bastards grind them down.

I clicked on the details buttons and it said as of today, we have 83 days left until Google rolls out this new requirement for apps inside and outside of the google play store. If any developer disagrees with their new terms and fees, they will be blocked!

Looks like they're trying to nuke the remaining privacy and freedoms we have left on the internet.

What to do?

-Get your developer friends to not comply to their new guides

- Sign the open letter on the site and take action by checking out the full resources list on their website as well!

To summarize, this is all daunting especially when you feel all alone with unfair and inhumane regulations comming out faster than improvements but we got this working together!
