Hot Summer || Lydia & Alex

Alex cursed herself for the Ariel song, âKiss the Girlâ playing on repeat in her head. It was distracting, but in such a good way. âI was wandering one day before camp started, just stumbled across it⌠itâs pretty perfect isnât it?â Alex let her shoulder rest against Lydiaâs. This was all so easy, but the brunette knew it was also extremely delicate.
âYouâre beautiful, you know that?â Alex blurted out, cheeks reddening as she looked at the woman next to her, worried about a poor reaction to her words. The last thing she needed right now was Lydia leaving, now when everything was falling into place like a fucking movie.
Lydia couldnât even hold her focus long enough-- or maybe just her blush-- to look at Alex through the whole sentence. She turned back to sweep over the trees and the waterfall and the secluded place that was exactly what Alex insisted it was-- perfect. It was.Â
The next thing, the next thing spoken was not about the waterfall or the finding of the place, like Lydia had maybe assumed Alex would talk about more-- whatever adventure sheâd been on when she stumbled across it, the details, whatever-- it wasnât about that. Suddenly Alex was calling her beautiful, and if Lydia hadnât been blushing before, she was definitely doing so now, her cheeks all dusted rose, and she couldnât bring herself to look at Alex in the moment, mostly from shyness, but she laughed and bumped her shoulder and said âYouâre kidding me.âÂ
