Bro im still kinda mad that lesbian Motoko Kusanagi was robbed from me for every goddamn adaptation of Ghost in the Shell (at least all the movies and anime) except for this one. I was never super into the series bc the media played her as a straight no-nonsense character and the dreary edgy world that was always depicted never grabbed me.
I've been enjoying this iteration much more than anything I've seen before. the world is colorful and Motoko is a FUN character (her being lesbian is a plus ofc). I've even grown more attached to her team than i ever did before.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not gonna say that the other adaptations are bad and I cant deny the massive influence they had in helping us even get to a point where a faithful adaptation can be made, but I wont lie that they kinda sapped the fun out of the universe and characters from the manga for me personally.
augh... im in such a weird place mentally rn and grappling with the fact that im all too aware that im having the "losing interest in things that usually bring me joy" aspect of being chronically depressed. Its not like it hasn't happened before, but I feel so frustratingly AWARE of it this time around and im just tired. I've been so fucking tired lately.

Originally my human au girlies were named Katya (when the popular theory of Pomni being Russian was being tossed around bc of her name in the circus) and Maggie (Ragatha). Not sure if I'll keep these designs or maybe switch em up now that we have some... canon designs i suppose? we'll see.
