The laugh that just erupted from me was ungodly.

we adopted a new cat a little over a month ago, and if i ever catch myself getting upset at her for hissing or stealing our other cats food or rifling through the trash can, i remember that she lived on the street for a whole year!!! a whole year of life alone!! and she was cold and scared and malnourished and without a mama cat to show her the way!!! and she steals food and digs in the trash because that was how she hunted, and she hisses sometimes because that's all she knew how to do!!! it's enough to make a grown man (me) cry!!!
