What if, when he kisses the Inquisitor for the first time it is also when he has to deal with a sudden onslaught of just how numb that area is. He can't focus on the feeling of the kiss as much as he would like because his brain is too focused on trying to feel something where he can't.

It used to be this way with eating and talking, but he got used to it. It became duller with experience. Then the lyrium withdrawals made it loud again for a time but then he got used to that again.

The way his lip healed impacting how the numbness feels. If it feels colder or warmer than other parts. When he picks up the habit of running his tongue over the seam of the scar he can feel on the inside of his mouth. A worrying habit he does when he started after it became less sensitive. Maybe even a habit he does to ground himself and tell if it is dream or reality.

His lip tugging oddly when he smiles or talks to fast. Feeling clunky and adding to his over all body dysmorphia. But a small part of him taking comfort that this one isn't caused by lyrium. This one is different. But it is a small comfort. Doesn't erase the discomfort at that odd tug. That sudden spark of sharpness when it stretches too tight.

When he kisses the Inquisitor there is a twinge. A bit of numbness. The prickling oddness and the clunky feeling of his lips against theirs. Can they feel how lopsided his lip is? Does it bother them like it bothers him? Can they tell the texture difference around the scar? From when he smiled a bit too wide while it was healing.
