it is true that many of us were born into this little snow globe of ours — but not all of us stayed . i think silver point was a launch pad for some , too small to hold big dreams . they took their childhoods , tied them in neat little bows and traded our island for something greater . the rest of us ? we stayed . because the roots were tangled too deep , because love held us in place , because someone had to stay . we stayed because sometimes a place doesn't let you go . it swallows you whole .

i don't hold resentment towards anyone who left silver point , because grief is an emotion that overpowers resentment . and , today ? we will all grieve the loss of mario viguna . he was there for all of us , for the ones with the courage to dream and for the ones whose hearts were heavy with what - ifs . and in true fashion , he will make sure to bring us back together for not only the holidays , but for a final goodbye . i have a feeling this year's holiday season will be a love letter . to mario . to the ones who stayed . to the ones who left . to the pieces of us we lost along the way .
