there is anyone this person is talking about who genuinely believes that misogyny is solely pornography's fault (lack of reading comprehension of any pornography-critical or anti-pornography belief) and

as a result those critical of pornography are incapable of connecting pornography and wider societal misogyny

this is a strawman you can only create if you do not engage with whatever it is you are attempting to criticise (in this case a blanket refusal to engage with anything connecting pornography use with misogyny) while still professing you are Better with Better Politics than those you criticise. this seems like a general symptom of these people being unable (open the schools!) and unwilling (skill issue!) to read anything they believe they will disagree with out of what I can only presume is a fear of seeing their not at all unique branch of pornography-enabled misogyny analysed and explained by relatively normal people.

we live in a world where pornography and the acts it depicts are so mainstream that a girl was stangled by a boy her age unprompted during her first kiss. boys are asking for advice on "safe" strangulation as part of sexual education. the phenomenon is so widespread that men have entire fetishes for early pornography introduction, which is a well-known grooming tactic used by those grooming children online and offline (and is one to remember when you see pedophiles on here talking about how #youthlib they are for wanting to ensure children can access pornography).

we know there is a link between emerging sexual violence in young people and violent pornography, directly connecting violent pornography consumption to violence against women and girls, even amongst adolescents. we know how much pornography is violent. we know that consumption of pornography has a negative effect on young people. in the UK the majority of young people today report first viewing pornography between the ages of 9 and 13, with some reporting even lower. we know that pornography is a recognised contributing factor in many, many modern cases of child-on-child sexual abuse. at least these people would never advocate against stopping children from accessing pornographoh wait!

these people try to make out pornography critical stances as being solely Exodus Cry level religious threats and not—divorced from current pornography-critical thoughts that have made it into the mainstream from a child safeguarding perspective—pretty mainstream feminist thought going into the 90s. I can only assume because these people imagine that all feminism is third wave "women do what you want** forever and it's feminist 😍" feminism: watered down for mass adoption without kicking up too much of a fuss, perfectly aligning with a status quo where women are sexually available for consumption in all forms, where wider movements for sex and kink positivity have rotted people's brains so thoroughly that "what if kinks aren't immune to criticism" gets these people sending gore and rape threats at the sight of an uppity woman.

the average "youthlib" Woke Pedophile on here has more in common with Children of God/The Family International and their foundational systemic child grooming than they would with anyone actually working to ensure that children are protected from sexual exploitation, like those doing the research in many of the papers and reports I've linked to here.
