I'm a coffee-swigging, wine-sipping, writer of poetry and singer of songs (the latter done privately these days); a spotter of synchronicity and lover of the paranormal; spiritual without pledging allegiance to any formal religion.

I love the types of synchronicities where objects that remind you of your muses turn up in the most unlikely places along your path. I’m always like, “Now who the hell would put that item here?” And then I’m like, “Oh wait, never mind, I get it now”. I then try to move on with my day, my mind once again blown away by the feeling that, on some higher level, those muses are just as aware of me as I am of them - and they're letting me know it.

Speaking a language you're learning (in this case it was Suomi) while dreaming is interesting. Even in the dreamscape, I was tempted to use words from another language I'm a bit more familiar with (Spanish) as substitutes for the ones I didn't know in the first language. It was something like, "Kuinka moni... uh... ¿cosas?..." Just like in waking life, it's as though my mind figures as long as the word isn't in English, it should be fine. Too funny.

I know it probably sounds silly, but when he gets to the part of the song - toward the end - where he draws out the final "We belong to another world", it just ... I feel that to the point of tears. It also reminds me of a Rumi quote:

It’s amazing how a boss can set the tone for an entire workplace. Going from a high-pressure micromanager to a more laid-back one is such a relief, though it’ll take me some time to not feel the sense of pressure that always seemed to be there under the former supervisor’s watch.

Today’s ‘home improvement’ project was putting up thermal room-darkening curtains over my living-room window. For the smaller windows elsewhere, I constructed very basic window coverings using foam-board panels that hang over the windows from push-pin hooks. I wasn’t about to go broke with this by spending money on professional installation. Besides, I love ‘MacGyvering’ things! But after the most recent outrageous heatwave, I felt I needed to do something to help regulate temperature extremes in this place; perhaps my HVAC system won’t have to work so hard as a result.

Yes, and in other cases my reaction is actually a touch of queasiness when the synchs suggest possible communication from / connections with those whom I don't recall ever having met. Queasiness and the nagging question of What's even the point of this?
