Wanted | Chapter One
Tara Carpenter x Reader
Series Masterlist | Next Chapter
Summary: New discoveries lead the group to believe that Ghostface is back.
Warning: Language, smut, R has a dick, mentions of drug use, murder. MINORS DNI
Tara is in love with you.
You’re her first love, her first kiss, and her first time. She’s hopelessly devoted to you; she would do anything for you.
And that terrifies her.
She would do unthinkable things to keep you safe and by her side.
She already has.
It has been one year since the Ghostface attacks in New York City. One year since the group was hunted like animals.
One year since you put on that mask and robe.
Tara knew you weren’t like the other killers. She could see the pain and fear in your eyes every time Ghostface was mentioned. You hated feeling so small and helpless. Just standing around and waiting to get attacked.
You are not like them, Tara assured herself. You only killed bad people. You never crossed the line.
You were just tired of being the prey, you wanted to be the predator. To instill fear into those who hunted you and your friends.
When Anika began suspecting you, Tara got scared.
So she did what she had to do in order to protect you.
She put on the robe and killed Anika. It pained Tara to hear her screams, so she killed her as fast as possible.
This is a secret that she would take to the grave. Not even you knew.
Mindy wasn’t able to suspect anyone due to her grief. Tara held Mindy in her arms as she was breaking down. Only one thought was in Tara’s head. You were safe.
Tara saved you.
The other Ghostfaces were revealed to be Ethan, Quinn, and detective Bailey. Tara felt a weight lifted from her chest. The murders you committed could be blamed on them.
At the shrine, Tara and you were separated. Tara and Sam teamed up and killed Bailey. Sam went to check in on Chad. That victorious feeling was cut short when a scream echoed through the building. Tara ran towards the sound and stopped in her tracks.
You were on top of Ethan, driving the knife into his mutilated body. Every inch of his body was covered in blood. His lifeless eyes stared into yours, but you didn’t stop.
Quinn’s body was in the same condition as Ethan’s.
“Y/n?” Tara called out, taking hesitant steps towards you.
You snapped your head towards the voice and calmed down when you saw your lover. Dropping the knife, you got up and met her in the middle.
“He- Ethan threatened you. I couldn’t let him-” Tara cut you off with a hug.
“It’s okay, baby. You saved me.” Tara whispered into you, hands wrapped around your neck. You brought your hands towards her waist and dropped your head onto her shoulder.
She could feel your body shaking against hers. She doesn’t know if it’s from fear or anger. Either way, she repeated assurances.
You took a deep breath and calmed down. Tara is safe.
“Look at me,” Tara gripped your face and forced you to look into her eyes. “It’s all over. Do you understand me? Ghostface is done with.” The double meaning in her words didn’t get lost.
You knew that she knows your secret. Tara knew and kept it a secret. You fell in love with her even more, if possible.
You nodded and surged forward to kiss her.
Your bad habits settled down after that night. It brought you and Tara even closer, as crazy as that sounds.
Now, you’re at a frat party with Tara. After all, you’re still a college student. You were dancing with her, smiling at each other and occasionally laughing.
She turned around and rubbed her backside against your front, her arms reaching to wrap around your neck. The weed enhanced your sense, making you feel like it’s only you and Tara in this room. You placed open mouthed kissed on her neck, trailing down until you reached the spot that drives her crazy.
“Get a room!” A voice interrupted your kisses. You looked up and spotted Mindy on the couch with a girl. Good for her, you thought. Chad stared at you from across the room and looked away.
“We will.” Tara responded with a cheeky smile and pulled you away. You ignored the wolf whistles and cheering as you stared at Tara’s ass. You hummed to yourself as dirty thoughts took over your brain.
You saw Tara open the bathroom and pull you in. You grabbed the door and slammed it shut, blindly locking it behind you.
Tara pushed her body against yours, capturing your lips in a passionate kiss. Your hands trailed down her back and onto her ass, squeezing it and receiving a moan of approval.
Tara’s hand trailed down your stomach until she reached your crotch. She palmed your bulge until it it’s straining against your pants. Soft gasps escape your lips every time Tara adds more pressure. I reach down and pull her shorts off.
Leading her to the counter, you grab her hips and hoist her up. Tara opened her legs wider and pulled you in by the hoops of your pants. Her hands were frantic against your belt, hastily unzipping your pants and pulling your hard cock out.
You moaned against her lips, pulling her closer to the edge of the counter. Looking down, you groan at the wet patch on her panties. You grab your cock and softly rub her covered clit with the head.
Tara’s hips buck at the sensation, a small whine leaving her swollen lips. Falling into temptation, you angle yourself at her entrance and slowly sink in.
Her head rolls back as she moans. You gasp when her velvet walls practically suck you in.
“Baby,” Tara whispered, sneaking her hands underneath your shirt and scratching your back. You quicken your thrust, watching as her eyes roll back and her mouth drops open in pleasure.
You grip her hips harder and kiss her neck, trailing down to her collarbones.
“So fucking tight,” You grunt, pumping yourself deep into her cunt. You look down and stare at your girth stretching her open repeatedly.
“You’re all mine.”
“Yours!” Tara gasps when your cock hits her g-spot. “I’m close,”
Her eyes widen when you pull out and slam yourself back in, a high pitched moan escaping her throat.
She wraps her legs around your waist as she cums, her body shaking before it becomes tense.
Her cum coats your dick as you continue to fuck her, chasing your high. Soon enough, you spill your seed inside her as your thrust gradually slow down.
Tara rubs circles in your back while trying to control her heavy breathing.
You smile at her and lean in to kiss her nose.
“I love you,” You mumble after every peck, laughing when you notice the blush on her cheeks.
“I love you more. Now, let’s go before we get reported missing,” Tara pushes you away after kissing you, moaning when you slip out of her.
Stuffing your cock back in your pants, you fasten your belt and grab her shorts. Helping her hop into them, you both walk out of the bathroom hand in hand.
“I don’t see the twins.” I point out to Tara, scanning the room full of drunk students.
“They probably left early. Mindy said they have a test tomorrow,” Tara responded, squeezing your hand.
“We should also head back.” She tugged you towards the door.
Once outside, you hailed a cab and opened the door for Tara. She leaned up and kissed you on the cheek. You leaned against the window as Tara leaned against you, listening to the radio and staring at the city.
A 10 minute car ride led you to Tara’s apartment. Walking up the stairs, you watched as Tara unlocked the door.
What you didn’t expect was to be met with yelling.
“Where were you!” Sam yelled at Tara, who rolled her eyes.
“I told you I was going to a party.” She yelled back, already annoyed with her older sister. You awkwardly headed towards the living room, where you spotted the twins watching T.V.
“Don’t give me that attitude, Tara. You didn’t take your taser!” Sam clapped back.
You hated when they argued, which was basically all the time. You understood and agreed with both sides, but you would never say it out loud.
“Hey guys,” You sat on the couch just as a new segment started.
“Breaking news. Cops report that a body was found just outside of a frat party. The victim had what appeared to be stab wounds all over his body. Could this be connected to the Ghostface attack that happened exactly one year ago?”
You sat up as your blood ran cold, staring at the television like you saw a ghost. The apartment went silent as you all stared at each other, an uneasy feeling nestling into your stomach.
Your eyes find Tara, who was already staring at you, an unexplainable look in her eyes.
“Don’t tell me that’s the party you all went to.”
You snap your head towards the voice, furrowing your eyebrows when you were met with Sam.
“Did any of you go outside?” She continued.
“I was with Tara the entire time,” You look towards Tara, who nods at your statement. Tara ignores her sister and goes to you, sitting on the arm of your chair.
“You two disappeared halfway through.” Chad speaks up from the corner of the couch. Sam snaps her head back to you two.
“What?!”
“What we do is none of your business!” Tara exclaimed, staring daggers at Chad. He shrinks down, looking like a child who was just reprimanded.
“Look, we’re not accusing anyone! I just need to know where everyone was at.”
“Sure as fuck sounds like you’re accusing us! For all we know, it could’ve been anyone. Ghostface does not have to be behind every fucking murder in New York City.” You spit out, growing angry at all the questions.
Tara runs her hand through your hair, an attempt to calm you down. “Calm down.” She kissed your temple as you evened out your breathing. Now is not a good time to be angry. You focused on the twins, who were now arguing with each other.
“Enough! We are not accusing each other after everything we went through together,” Sam yelled over everyone, who all fell silent and looked down, looking like a kicked puppy.
The silence lasted for another minute before a blaring noise scared everyone. You look down and see that your phone is ringing. You can feel everyone staring at you, but you pay them no mind.
Turning your phone over, you notice that there is no caller id. Tara grips your wrist tightly and shakes her head. Taking a deep breath, you accept the call and slowly bring it to your ear.
“Hello, Y/n.” You listened as the voice changer spoke. That sinister voice bringing back memories.
You shut your eyes and pull the phone away.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck!” You hiss, bringing the phone back up. Everyone immediately became alarmed, standing up and awaiting the speech.
“What the hell do you want this time?” You speak into the phone, reaching over to grip Tara’s hand. In the corner of your eye, you see Sam run to her room, probably grabbing her gun. Chad is looking around the apartment, checking every room. Mindy has a bat in her hand, watching you with wide eyes.
“I just want to play a game.”
“Hang up,” Tara urged, tugging your shoulder to get you to listen to her, fear evident in her eyes.
“You lose every time we play this game.” You speak lowly, feeling your fingers twitch and skin crawl. Ghostface is back, and that means no one is safe. Tara isn’t safe.
You need to get rid of him, it’s the only way.
No. You made a promise.
“Yeah? Well, this time things are different. I know everyone’s dirty little secrets.”
You paused, letting his words marinate as your heart continued to thump at an increased pace. As much as you hated to continue the conversation, you are curious.
“What secrets?”
“That’s for me to know and you to find out. I’ll be seeing you soon.” The phone call ends, leaving you in a paranoid state of mind.
“The apartment is clear,” Sam calls out from the other room, and you sigh in relief.
Mindy drops the bat and starts ranting about who knows what. You drop the phone and slide down the wall, leaning your head against it. Tara crouches down and rubs your thighs, leaning her forehead against yours.
“He’s back,” I whisper, almost afraid to say it at all. If you say it out loud, that means it’s real, and there’s a chance you’ll end up dead.
“We will beat him, like we always do.” Tara rubs your shoulders, relaxing when she feels the tension leave your body. You can tell that she’s on edge, the new discovery making her anxious.
You can hear Sam telling everyone to spend the night, that it’s too dangerous to leave.
Tara pulled you up, and led you to her room. You pulled your pants off and changed into a pair of sweats, then sat on the bed and watched Tara change into her pajamas. Something about watching her do her nightly routine brought you peace. You sat on the bed and rubbed your face, today’s events weighing down on you.
Tara jumped on the bed and hid her face in your shoulder, simultaneously throwing a leg over your body. You wrapped an arm around her and stared up at the ceiling.
She doesn’t deserve this, you thought. To go through this a third time, to be hunted and terrorized.
Only one thought repeated in your head as she fell asleep against you.
You have to keep her safe, no matter what.

You should have known Tara would not be able to handle her alcohol. Of course she wouldn’t be able to, she is smaller than most people. But you had faith in Tara. Faith that was crushed when you were called to pick up and take a drunk Tara home.
Fighting her wandering hands, you struggled to guide her into the elevator. She was being stubborn and refused to tell you why.
“Get in the damn elevator.” You hissed, trying to pull her hands away from the opening. As if trying to further anger you, she planted her legs outside the elevator and braced herself. Now looking like a starfish.
“What the hell, Tara.” You stared at her in utter disbelief. Her eyebrows were furrowed and lips pulled into a pout.
“I want a burrito!”
You stop and stare at your girlfriend. That’s where all of her attitude is coming from? A burrito?
“I will buy you a burrito tomorrow,” You quickly answered back. This was obviously the wrong thing to say when she started rambling about how you don’t love her.
Taking advantage of her drunk rant, you wrapped your arms around her waist and pulled her into the elevator, immediately pressing the ‘close doors’ button. She tried throwing herself out of your arms but flopped down when the doors closed in her face.
“How dare you!” Tara whisper yelled, a betrayed look on her face. Her wide eyes mimicking those of a puppy.
“Baby, get up. The floor is dirty.” You tugged her back up, wrapping your arms around her body to make sure she doesn’t do anything.
Tara shoved her face into your neck and started grumbling about whatever drunk thought she was currently having.
“Oh yeah, I agree.” You closed your eyes and leaned against the wall of the elevator, tightening your grip on her waist when Tara began leaning backwards.
Breathing in her vanilla perfume, you felt your heart beat happily.
Tara gasped when the elevator doors finally opened. You tugged her along and walked towards your apartment door. Quickly unlocking the door, Tara ran in and threw herself on your couch.
“C’mon T, you have to get ready for bed.” You fell to your knees in front of her and gently moved the hair that was covering her face. You poked her cheek and smiled when Tara tried biting your finger.
“Let me sleep,” She slurred against the cushion. You sighed and began taking her shoes off.
You refused to let her sleep in uncomfortable clothes.
Making a quick trip to your room, you grabbed a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. Walking back, you flipped her body over so that she was on her back. She grunted in response, opening her eyes to gaze at your features, a smile forming on her lips.
You tugged her pants down her legs, murmuring a small ‘thank you’ when Tara kicked them off.
“Are we going to have sex?” Tara asked you, eyebrows wiggling at her suggestion.
“Nope.” You immediately shut it down, laughing at the way her jaw dropped. You slipped the shorts onto her legs, touching her soft legs in the process.
“But, but, you’re taking my clothes off! You don’t want me anymore?”
“I always want you, Tara.” You switched the shirt she was wearing with the other one, fixing her messy hair in the process.
“But not right now?” She asked, hands gripping your waist desperately, pulling you on top of her body once you finished changing her clothes.
“It’s bed time,” You reassured her, flipping positions so that you won’t squish her smaller body.
Tara snuggled into your chest and closed her eyes, the fatigue finally catching up to her. You wrapped your arms around her body protectively, rubbing small circles to soothe her to sleep. Her warm body heat lulling you to sleep.

The peaceful atmosphere of your room was broken when rapid knocks sounded against your window. You jumped, phone flying out of your hands as you threw your body off the bed.
You hesitantly peeked your head up, only to calm down when you saw Vada staring right back at you.
“You almost gave me a heart attack, Vada.” You slide your window up. Vada hurls her body into the open space, only to dramatically fall to the ground.
“Ouch- fuck, Sorry. I just really needed to see you.”
Vada watches you with a goofy grin and sparkly eyes. Her heart rate was through the roof. Vada tried taking deep breaths, but every time she looked you in the eyes, she knew you were the cause.
“You could have warned me. What if I was naked?” You pointed out, not actually annoyed. You smiled when Vada stuttered over her words
“I totally would have closed my eyes! I mean- maybe I would take a small peek, but that’s it I swear! Actually, I would have stared in a “You’re majestic” kind of way but not in a perverted way.”
Vada blurted out, cheeks reddening by the second. She felt her stomach turning at every word that escaped her mouth. She looked at you, eyes wide and panicked.
You tried holding in your laughter, you really did try, but Vada staring at you with that embarrassed look on her face made you crack up.
“I was joking! Calm down, V.” You gasped out through your laughter, sitting down next to Vada. You leaned your head against the wall and bumped your shoulder into her shoulder.
You admired the freckles that adorned her face. Feeling your heart squeeze at the sight, you unconsciously looked down at her lips.
“Of course, of course. I knew that,” Vada laughed as strands of wavy hair fell over her face.
The laughter quieted down, only left with soft smiles. Vada turned her head to admire your features.
“I talked to Nick earlier,” She spoke softly, reaching out to hold your hand. She intertwined your fingers together, squeezing your hand every few seconds.
Perfect fit.
You hummed. “Yeah?”
“Yeah. He knocked some sense into me.” Vada gulped, feeling her hands start to sweat.
“The sense being?” You pushed, turning your head to face her. Vada also turned to face you, unaware of how little space was between you.
“My feelings for you.” She confessed, biting her lip in fear of your reaction.
You stilled, searching Vada’s eyes. All you saw was love, hope, and fear. You let yourself lean closer until your lips were grazing each other. You placed your hands on her face and gently stroked her cheeks.
Vada was the one to close the space. Leaning forward, she desperately needed to feel you against her. Needed to feel all that she has been yearning for.
Vada’s eyes fluttered shut, her arms wrapping around your neck as she slid into your lap.
You kissed her with more force now. Hoping she will feel your love through the kiss. She responds with the same enthusiasm, lips feverish against each other. You lungs were screaming for air, so you pulled back and took deep breaths to stop the frantic beating in your chest.
Vada chased your lips, a soft whine escaping her mouth at the separation.
“Vada,” You breathlessly speak through the kisses that she places on your lips.
“Easy, V. I’m not going anywhere,” You kiss her one last time, rubbing circles on her hip.
She opened her eyes and stared at your swollen lips.
“Woah. That was better than any drug I have ever taken,” She stared at you in awe, fighting the smile on her face when you roll your eyes.
“Way to ruin the moment,” You laughed, poking her stomach. She shrieked, before smacking your hand away and trying to scoot closer to your body. This was almost impossible considering you were flushed together.
“I’m so serious. You’re my new favorite drug,” You closed your eyes when she began leaving soft pecks on your neck.
“Be mine?” Vada mumbled against your collarbone, sucking red marks onto your skin. She was claiming you, you realized. “Please.”
“I’m yours,” You nod, gripping her waist even tighter when she bit down. You were fine with being claimed by Vada. “And you’re mine.”
Your writing is so cute omg 🤍

“Hey sweet cheeks, quick question.” You talk to your phone while looking around the grocery store. You glance at the screen and smile to yourself. Tara was propped up on the pillows of your shared bed, messy hair and red lines on her face. All tell tale signs of an amazing nap.
It was your weekly date night and you decided to cook for Tara. Unfortunately, school takes up most of your time which leads to your refrigerator being empty.
“Hi baby.” Tara coos as she scrunches her nose at you through the screen.
“For date night, I was thinking I can cook for you.” You explained, strolling into the breakfast aisle and grabbing her favorite cereal. You stared longingly at the box of Froot Loops as you walked away.
“Uh oh. I’ll have the fire department on speed dial.” She snorted at her own joke. Finding amusement in the way your face dropped.
“Prick. Anyways, I was wondering if you’re allergic to anything?” You finally asked your question and stared at her beautiful face.
“You did not just ask me that,” Tara gasped at your words.
“What?! It’s an important question.”
“We’ve been dating for two years!”
“Yeah, and it has never come up- So i’m asking you now.” You defended yourself, stopping in the middle of the aisle to argue with your girlfriend.
After an awkwardly long pause, Tara responded.
“I’m not allergic to anything.”
“Thank you for your cooperation, TarTar.” You mumbled the nickname, poking the bear in the process. The bear being you’re tiny lover.
“Call me that again and I’ll tell Sam what you did to me in her car.” Tara threatened you, eyes narrowed as she gave you that deadpan look.
“Baby, no!” She quickly ended the call. Your heart was beating rapidly at the thought of Sam finding out.
———
“I’m home!” You yell as you shut the door behind you, carrying bags of groceries towards the kitchen.
You preheated the oven and began seasoning the chicken. You heard the door to your room open and soft footsteps approaching you.
Shivers ran down your spine when you felt Tara’s hands slide under your shirt, softly scratching your stomach before intertwining her hands, and leaning her head against your back.
“I missed you,” Tara mumbled against your shirt, squeezing you tighter. You gently turned around and wrapped your arms around her body, bringing her impossibly closer to you.
“I was gone for a few hours.”
“You left me!” Tara argued, putting the chicken in the oven while you chopped some vegetables. Crossing her arms over her chest, Tara leaned against the counter. You put the knife down and leaned closer
“I tried waking you up but you pushed me off the bed,” Tara bit her lip, trying and failing to hide her giggles.
“Yeah, well-”
You cut her off with a kiss, trapping her against the counter top with your body. Almost immediately, her arms uncrossed and wrapped around your waist.
Tara’s brain went fuzzy at the feel of your lips against hers, gripping her hips with enough pressure to lightly bruise. Claiming her.
A yelp echoed through the kitchen as you gripped the back of her thighs and lifted her onto the counter top, not once pulling away.
Tara spread her legs and pulled you in by the end of your shirt, leaving scratches on your abdomen. You hissed into the kiss and bit her lip as payback.
You pulled away from her addicting lips once you couldn’t breathe, and left wet kisses on her neck. Tara’s hand trailed up to the back of your head, keeping you in place as her other land was planted behind her, supporting her body.
“Baby,” Tara gasped when you bit her hard, tugging at your roots.
You hummed against her neck, not bothering to give her a reply.
“Couch.” She mumbled, tugging harder at your hair when you went lower, placing kisses on her chest. Her fruity perfume and smooth skin were clouding your thoughts.
“Mkay,” You absentmindedly replied, nodding your head to shake the thoughts you were having. The burnt smell in the air helping you clear your thoughts.
Wait.
“Oh, shit!”
“The chicken!”

Love and Crime
Pairing: Wednesday Addams x Reader
Summary: After being chosen to shadow a crime scene photographer, you soon meet someone far more terrifying than the gruesome crime scenes.
Warnings: Language, One bed trope, Descriptions of crime scenes, Wednesday level insults
A/N: Here is this fic to make up for my disappearance. Not entirely sure how I feel about it but whatever. Enjoy!
Walking through the air terminal, you did your best to avoid screaming children and cranky dads. The hot tea in your hand did nothing against the cold temperatures of the early night.
Awkwardly smiling at the ticket lady, you boarded your designated plane after showing her your ticket. The short walk through the tunnel helped ease your nerves for what’s to come.
Now, it was time to look for 20-A. You sighed in relief when you noticed your row was empty. Settling down, you plugged in your earphones and closed your eyes.
Instead of spending your summer at home, you were on your way to New York City. Alone.
You would be spending the summer in a overpopulated city, shadowing a crime scene photographer. You have your father to thank for that; signing you up without your approval.
A sharp kick to your shoe startled you from your thoughts. You opened your eyes and yanked your earphones out.
“Get up,” The girl told you.
Standing next to your seat was a girl dressed in all black. The neatly done braids laid over her shoulder as her bangs covered her forehead. Those deadpan eyes stared daggers into your own. You felt as if she was trying to set you on fire.
Just your type.
“What the hell is your problem?” You exclaimed, watching her stand on her tippy toes to place her bag in the overhead compartment.
“I called out to you, but you did not hear. Now get up,”
“I think there is a nicer way of saying that.”
“Get up before I stab your eyes out.” The black haired girl calmly stated, flipping out a switchblade in her right hand.
Your eyes switched between her face and the weapon in her hand. Pursing your lips before standing up and walking into the aisle.
The woman sat in the window seat as you took your place once again. The smell of expensive perfume made its way to your side.
How the hell did she get that through security?
She took out a notebook with the name ‘Wednesday’ embroidered on the cover.
So her name is Wednesday.
Taking out a crossword puzzle to pass time, you stared at the paper. Not a single thought came to you. You threw it onto the small table and closed your eyes. The vibrations of the plane slowly rocking you to sleep.
What you didn’t notice was Wednesday snatching your puzzle and pencil, filling in the words you missed while letting out sighs at your stupidity.
———
You awoke to feeling of your foot getting stomped on.
You grumble. “Ouch.”
Wednesday was glaring at you, lips pursed into a scowl. There are people walking past you, getting off the plane.
You slept through the landing.
“My bad.” You mumbled, standing up once the aisle was clear.
Gathering your carry on bag, you walked down the aisle and off the plane. You could hear heavy footsteps coming from behind you, courtesy of Wednesday’s chunky boots.
Thought after three minutes of walking, you started to get suspicious. Turning your head, you saw that she was still behind you. She caught your stare and narrowed her eyes.
“Are you following me?” You questioned, feeling goosebumps on your arms.
“I would rather break all of my bones than to ever be interested enough to follow you.”
Oh.
You let out a surprised laugh at her crude words. “So we just happen to be going the same way, in one of the largest airports in the U.S.” You retaliated, unconsciously slowing your steps down.
Wednesday scanned your face before muttering. “It appears so.” The raven haired girl couldn’t help but to match your pace, walking in rhythm with you.
“Bullshit. I think you like me.” You teased her, physically seeing her take a deep breath. Wednesday suddenly stuck her foot out, causing you to trip and fall to the ground. You quickly sat up and stared at the seething girl with wide eyes.
Wednesday bent down to your level and firmly gripped your jaw, forcing you to stare into her soulless eyes.
“If you ever say such nonsense again, I will cut your fingers off and shove them down your throat, and then stitch your mouth shut.” Wednesday told you, watching you gulp. Watching you mildly panic sent a shiver down her spine.
You tried nodding your head that was still being held in place. Wednesday finally let go, stepping back to allow you to spring up.
You hated that butterflies appeared in your stomach. You would’ve continued your little staring contest, but a man interrupted.
“Excuse me, you must be Wednesday and Y/n?”
Snapping your head to the side, you saw a balding man dressed in a trench coat, holding a sign that has both of your names and pictures.
“I am Trevor, and you will be shadowing me this summer,” Trevor explained, clasping his hands together. “I see you two have already met!”
“Oh, fuck.” You whispered, slowly turning towards Wednesday. You sheepishly smiled at the girl who in return, blankly stared at you.
“Are you gonna say this is also a coincidence?”
You were met with a sharp kick to your leg.
———
“-and this is where you two will be sleeping.” Trevor spoke with his hands, presenting you to the room.
“I’m sorry, what?” You asked, staring at the bedroom that only has one bed.
“No.” Wednesday’s eye twitched in annoyance, crossing her arms over her chest.
“Listen, I live in New York City. You’re lucky you even have a room to share. Most would of had you sleeping in the living room.” Trevor grumbled before walking away. You could hear the man mutter words under his breath.
Wednesday broke the silent atmosphere.
“I’ll take the bed. You can curl up on the ground.” She throws her luggage onto the bed.
You give her a bewildered look. “I am not sleeping on the floor!”
“You are also not sleeping with me.”
“I bet you’d like that, stalker.”
Wednesday threateningly took steps towards you, causing you to stumble backwards. “Speak again and I will personally make sure you are the next crime scene Trevor is photographing.”
You opened your mouth to protest, but decided against it when you remembered the knife she has in her pocket.
That and the crazed look in her eyes sealed the deal for you.
You sighed, snatching the pillow and comforter and throwing them on the bean bag. You neatly folded the sheets, wishing you were back in your home town and not staying with a pretty psycho.
Just as you were about to lay down, Trevor came barreling in, a large duffel bag in hand. The camera around his neck swung around as he appeared to end the call.
“Kids! Our first homicide of the day has been called in. Lets go!” Trevor grabbed his car keys and ran out the building, you and Wednesday following behind closely. You noticed Wednesday had the tiniest hint of a smile on her face along with a pep in her step. Both disappeared as soon as they appeared.
“Are you actually excited?” You furrowed your eyebrows, slightly amused when you saw the sparkle in her eyes.
“It’s been days since I’ve been in the presence of a dead body.” Wednesday eagerly responded, hopping into the backseat of the car. You went to enter the passenger side and just as you were about to sit, you noticed a camera in the seat.
“Nope. My baby sits there, you can sit in the back with your friend.”
You stared at the man, hoping he’ll change his mind, “You can’t be serious.”
“As serious as can be, now beat it. Wednesday does not bite.” Trevor turned the engine on.
“No, but she stabs!” You hissed, slamming the door shut and hopping into the back. You felt her stare into the side of your face. Slowly turning to face her, you saw said knife being played with.
Slowly turning your head straight forward, you gulped down your nerves and mentally prepared yourself.
There’s no way Wednesday would actually stab you.
Right?
You train of thoughts were cut short when the car came to a screeching halt. The cars beeping all around you made you realize how bad the traffic is.
———
“Oh man, this is brutal,” You commented, pulling your sweater up to cover your nose, eyebrows furrowing at the stench. “Do you have essential oils or something?”
“Nope! Got used to the smell years ago.” Trevor replied, snapping shots of the mutilated body.
You were currently in an alley way, taking pictures of a women who fell from the building. The stab wound on her stomach visible.
She tried escaping a masked psycho with a knife, but ultimately plummeted to her death.
“Aren’t you bothered by the smell- Never mind.” You stopped yourself once you saw Wednesday squatting down by the body, eyes carefully analyzing every bloody detail.
“Has there been any reports on this killer?” Wednesday stood up and looked around the crime scene, stilling at the sight of a discarded ladder.
“One or two, but that is not our job.” Trevor eyed Wednesday, shaking his head at her. Wednesday narrowed her eyes at him before straightening her posture and walking to stand by you.
You admired her curiosity, but you did not want to meddle in things that don’t concern you. Especially when it involves a killer.
“Trevor! We have another body, at a strip club this time. C’mon!” A man in police uniform hung out of the widow of a car, waving Trevor over.
You wiggled your eyebrows at the location, immediately getting elbowed in the ribs by Wednesday.
“I was joking,” You grunted, rubbing your side.
“Shit. Okay! Alright listen, here are my keys. Drive back to the apartment and no pit stops!” Trevor handed you the keys to his car and ran towards the cop car, speeding off.
You stared at the keys in your hand, wondering how it is possible that Trevor is the adult responsible for you.
“Trusting a teenager with a car, how idiotic.” Wednesday walked away from you. You quickly ran after her, not wanting to get left behind.
———
“Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God.” You whispered to yourself over and over again. You finally made it back to the apartment after almost getting into 7 car accident.
Driving in New York City is no joke.
You both entered the home and got ready for bed.
“You need your license revoked immediately.” Wednesday said as she was getting the bed prepared.
“It was not my fault!” You argued through a mouthful of toothpaste.
You rinsed your mouth and walked into the bedroom. Wednesday was wearing a matching pair of sleeping shorts and a T-Shirt. But what caught your attention was her hair.
Wednesday’s wavy hair cascaded over her back as her bangs messily laid on her forehead.
You swallowed the lump in your throat and forced your gaze away from the smaller girl. Desperately shaking your thoughts away.
You threw yourself on the bean bag and stared at the ceiling. The light was turned off as Wednesday laid down in the bed, hands going over her chest.
A scurrying noise caught your attention. You lifted your head and looked for the reason. Your soul left your body when you saw a rat run across the floor.
You shot up off the bean bag and crawled towards the bed in which Wednesday resided in.
You put your chin on the bed as you kneeled by the bed.
“Wednesday,” You softly called out. “Can I get in the bed?”
“No.”
“Please,”
“No.”
“Please, Wednesday. I saw a fucking rat the size of a melon run across the room.” You explained, hoping she will change her mind.
“Hopefully you’re it’s next meal.” Wednesday murmured, trying to ignore your puppy eyes. Choosing to close her eyes once again.
You looked so hopeful there, on your knees and waiting for her to accept your proposition.
“This bed is big enough for both of us, Wednesday.” You tried once again, reaching up to tug on the sheets.
She opened one eye to look at you before sighing. Wednesday scooted towards the left side of the bed.
You smiled and jumped in the bed, getting under the covers and rolling onto your side.
“Touch me and I’ll curse your bloodline.” The raven haired girl warned, ignoring the feeling of your body heat warming her body.
“I won’t!” You promise, knowing damn well you move a lot in your sleep.
“Goodnight, Wednesday. Sweet dreams. Don’t let the bed bugs bite.” You stared at the girl as you thought of every saying possible.
“I will make sure you stay asleep forever if you don’t shut up.”
“Yep. Shutting up now.”
The door opened around 4 am as Trevor went to check on you guys.
Though he stopped in his steps and smiled when he saw the position you were sleeping in.
You were both shoulder to shoulder, heads tilted to rest on the others. Your arm was wrapped around Wednesday’s left arm.
“Ahh. Young love.” Trevor smiled, grabbing his camera and snapping a picture of the two of you wrapped up in each others embrace.
