Lost my job of 6 years, lost my insurance, and my meds aren't working. When I saw him last the doc said if these don't work then I need to see a specialist. I'll never be able to afford it now... Did you know that when you are let go, you get the option to continue your insurance plan by paying it yourself? Fun fact, the price gets super jacked up. What jobless person can afford 500 a month? It's not like I have any savings, and I've still got medical bills pouring in from my back surgery in February.

Life is currently shit and my family is all worried about my mental state. I've been nauseous for almost 2 weeks and I don't know if that's just stress or a side effect of meds. The headaches are frequent but manageable.

I bounce back and forth between being 'alright' and being 'not alright'. I tell myself 'it's just a job, you can find another' but the reality is, it was more than a job. I started there when I was 20 and poured my soul into it. The fact that they could let me go with the phrase "it's not working out" and refuse to elaborate breaks me. I trusted them. Why didn't they give me feedback if something was wrong?? As far as I knew I did a good job and was consistently a high receiver on our 'kudos' platform (used for "thank you's" and "good jobs"). Was this just workplace politics? I know there was some backroom animosity between my team managers and the big big boss... essentially over the last few months my whole team was let go, and the managers keep fucking up things and losing clients. Did they blame me to save face with the president?
