[1:16:14] Pyro: [reading chat] “While [you’re] both here can we get some insight into TF!Pyro’s design process?” Sina: Oooo! Pyro: We just did shit that looked cool really. [laughs] No, there was like a little bit of thought into it. Sina: No, there was a lot of thought actually. Yeah, I mean, you had a lot of ideas. Like you presented a lot of like you wanted a very sharp design because the character you wanted to lean into like them being kind of a… Pyro: Abrasive. Sina: [overlapping] Asshole. [laughs] Pyro: Abrasive but flashy was the idea. Sina: Yeah. Pyro: If you were to put it into- Abrasive but flashy. Where it was like, and I think somebody brought up the spikes on himself and like how it’s a very impractical outfit, but a lot of my outfits I’ve had characters wear have been very practical and they’ve been very dressed down. For this time I was like I want to really go crazy, and I want, you know, I want him to look really cool. Because it’s a fantasy setting. Sina: The funniest thing to me has been when you presented this character to me you were very much like “No facial hair. I don’t want facial hair.” And the amount of fanart that I see with facial hair is really funny to me cause I’m like that was the one thing he didn’t want. [laughs] Pyro: Yeah. Sina: But no, I wanted to do a lot of- because how you described your character I thought that like, there’s no soft edges in the design at all. Pyro: No, no. Sina: Everything is very sharp. Like, down to his fingers. I made them very pointy. Pyro: They’re very- They’re like dragon claws, and I think that then comes back and then is very much like him wanting to- him seeing himself as a dragon. Sina: But I tried to make it very simple because another thing that you pointed out was that this needs to be a Minecraft skin. Pyro: Yeah, I think a lot of really cool designs don’t translate well into Minecraft. Sina: I’m also a strong believer that the most simple designs are the best ones. Pyro: Yeah. I thought about changing his design, I don’t think I will. I really thought about it, but I just don’t think I will. One it’s money, but two it’s like… I think keeping him consistent is cool. Maybe an outfit change at some point. Sina: I like his design. Pyro: Yeah, he’s not designed- like that is not the clothes he has worn all his life. That is like, that is like the clothes from Moffa, the city that he moved- eventually ended up in before the story began. That’s why, I think Maddy in a lot of ways has similar fashions to him. She’s very flashy as well. Sina: I remember, I think with your design out of the designs that I did the like, I tried to make it the most dragon riding. I did take a lot of inspo from like, riding outfits. Pyro: Yeah. Sina: Like with the boots and the pants. Pyro: Yeah, it was a riding thing. Like very- a little bit like, we sort of- I looked at like battle mages, so like mages who conjured weapons and whatever. I looked at um… lot of Targaryen stuff. Put it on a table, I know it, you know it. It’s the dragon thing; I’m being the fire guy. Let me be Targaryen. Sina: Yeah. The silver boot tips was like the last thing we added. Pyro: That was the last thing, cause I was like it’s a bit nothing going on down there. Sina: It was a good addition. Pyro: It was a good addition. It was a really good addition.

Sina: I did give you riding pants. I don’t know if you realised. Pyro: What, like the wide sort of like-? Sina: The way they had like a- it has like a- Pyro: Oh! That’s really cool! I didn’t know that! Sina: Yeah. Pyro: Really? What!? Sina: Let me pull it up. Pyro: [laughs] What!? Sina: Cause we talked about that like riding stuff and I obviously I ride so I know about like, Pyro: Yeah, yeah, yes, you know. Sina: The inner part being a different colour, those are riding pants. They like- Pyro: [overlapping] Oh my god! I thought it was just shading. That’s so cool! Sina: No, cause a lot of riding pants have like different fabric inside to help you like- Pyro: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah! I don’t think fanart has ever depicted that. I thought it was just shading, damn. Or any time looked at it I’d be like, that’s shading. That’s really cool. [chatter] what do you mean “I think that’s why a lot of MC fanart is so unique with their designs though.” Like, simple skins becoming massive? Is that- yeah. Sina: 100%. It’s been really cool seeing the fanart though, especially the ones where people like redesigning it and why they do it is really interesting. Also just seeing people try and read into stuff that we didn’t- like someone said that the corset you have looks like a bird.* Pyro: Like a bird. Sina: That’s cool. Cause it could also look like a dragon if you think about it, with the wings and stuff. I didn’t do that intentionally. [laughs] Pyro: It was really good seeing the post and us being like damn, we did not plan that shit at all. Sina: My favourite thing is when people do that with my designs though, they’re like this is why you did this and this and I’m like yeah! [nodding] Yeah, mhm, 100%. Yeah. It’s been really cool. I talked to Maddy a lot about this but the Flight designs feel like my babies. Those are my children. It’s like how Vtubers have their like mothers, who’re the ones who draw them. Pyro: I really like when they do that, yeah. Sina: That’s how I feel about them. Pyro: No, I really like- in one sense I really like having a canon design if people really wanna stick to what I view the character as, but it also um, I think it’s also really cool to see like different outfits and stuff. I don’t think I’ve seen Pyro in many different outfits, well TF!Pyro in many different outfits yet. Sina: I’ve seen a lot of people do like their versions of it, which I think is also really cool because they’re like respecting the design but then also doing their own like “this is why I do this.” which I think its really cool. Because there’s a lot of people who enjoy character design in the community, and they wanna put their own little- [gestures] Pyro: I think the Flight’s been really cool because its got a lot of like- it’s a high fantasy. It’s really high fantasy. Sina: I got really lucky cause all the three designs that I designed were so different, like so very different. So I got to like, play around a lot. Pyro: I think it translated to the skin really well. Sina: Yeah, that was like my- cause we talked about that a lot. So I tried to- Pyro: Yeah. […] Sina: I love how all of the flight characters are so different from each other, like there’s not like a- It’s like high fantasy-esque but there’s still like all different- Pyro: Yeah! Not many people went with a similar vibe to what I went with which was really cool and surprising. I got to be a very classic dragon rider mage. And I think, like, you don’t need that, but I think it’s good as like a good tone setter I guess. Sina: Yeah. […] Sina: I did wanna give your character piercings. Pyro: Yeah. Sina: I’ve seen people add those anyway. Pyro: People do them anyway, yeah. Sina: Thank you. [laughs] But that’s just how I design my characters.
