So, very unfortunate news. I actually received a follow up in the mail, too.

AUTISM RESPONSE: Rubber ducks and other rubber bath toys can accumulate mold on the inside because of small holes underneath where moisture becomes trapped. The mold often goes unnoticed because it's not visible from the outside.

VYLET PONY RETROSPECTIVE: CUTIEMARKS, and THE THINGS THAT BIND US

8:27, June 22nd, Summer of ‘12…

CUTIEMARKS is such an important album to me, spiritually. I started listening to Vylet Pony shortly before the release of this album, and I have fallen back on it consistently, move after move, heartbreak after heartbreak. It shaped my worldview, how I look at myself, how I look at other people. And above all, it made me adore my life as a creator.

It’s really hard for me to describe the incredible impact this thing has had on my life (not to mention the trauma bonding), so instead, I’ll tell you this:

The last time I visited the beach near my hometown in Depoe Bay, Oregon, I wrote ‘SING A SONG ABOUT LIFE’ on the boulders in charcoal. Since I’m going back there this summer for the first time in six years, I’ll do it again.

While it may not be the greatest album ever made, CUTIEMARKS has a special little diamond studded box in my heart, and I have so much to thank for the hope and empathy that it instilled in little me.
