Matt and I are rewatching TLOK's Book 4 and it gets more amazing with every rewatch. Now I'm feeling hyped for Seven Havens too. I'm not sure how they'll approach the new setting but it's so exciting to see the Avatar world keep expanding!

Wake up babe, new Avatar: Seven Havens trailer just dropped!

This morning I opened reddit and I could immediately feel myself getting angry at the random attention-grabbing posts. Then, just now, I opened LinkedIn and felt behind in my professional career. I'll try logging out of my reddit account for a bit, at the very least. Have to give it a try.

I've noticed I have a habit of wanting to read complex books and then by the time I actually start reading I notice just how boring they can be. In a way though it makes me appreciate the local library even more, since I don't have to buy them to give them try.

Still enjoying the holidays so much! How long had it been since I relaxed for such a long time?
3003.
This morning I finished The True True Story of Raja the Gullible (and His Mother) and I have to say I loved it. It started off as really funny, then it took a dark turn, and then the end was quite emotional and, if not comfy, at the very least endearing. I'd love to read some more stuff the author has written, so I'll be checking out his other books in the future.

Wow I've been doing absolutely nothing for two days now. It's my holidays, and the weekend, at that, but I hope I can get some drawing done tomorrow at the very least. Don't want to fall behind.

I'm enjoying the holidays so, so much. What a joy it is to spend a quiet, relaxing day in silence. I feel it's also great for helping me reasses where I am and where I want to go for the rest of the year. Honestly it's been just great. There are things to be done, but they will be done, and there's no need to rush or worry. All is good these days.

Last night I started reading The True True Story of Raja the Gullible (and His Mother) and so far I'm quite enjoying it. I know next to nothing about the history of Lebanon, which is where the story is set and where the author is from, so it's interesting to find out a little bit about it through this novel. From what I've read so far, it has quite a lot in common with Argentina, at least in the economic aspect, which comes as a surprise to me. I'll try to continue reading this little book instead of browsing the internet so much. I think it might be a far better use of my time.

I'm so sick of the World Cup. Every time the national team makes it this far people lose their minds. I just can't seem to tap into it no matter how much I try. Although to be honest, it's not like I've tried a lot. I guess I just don't like all the noise and the weird, bizarre nationalist spirit everyone gets into. Could they enjoy it a bit more quietly perhaps? Or show some less zealotry? Especially now that Argentina is playing against England I feel super weird. I teach the language, I like the culture; how could I ever be so against a culture I feel so close to? What's more, many people are bringing the Malvinas/Falklands issue into this, which is just a football match. I just don't get how they can mix politics into the whole thing. Most of the players in both teams hadn't even been born by the war. So what is this even about?

Just finished We are the Economy and found it quite insightful. It was good to have a reminder that we don't just mindlessly consume material things like food or possessions, but also plenty of media, which might be even more invasive I think. In a way it motivated me not to use my phone as much. I just checked and I haven't met my screentime goal in at least a month. Wow. Would love to improve that.

Such a quiet day today! Super grateful for days like this. I picked up We are the Economy again, and maybe this time I will finish it. It's looking interesting and I'm really drawn to the ideas mentioned, so we'll see. I want to balance the books I hsve in my Kindle with the ones I borrow from the library, so maybe the next book I pick up from the library will be a short story collection. We'll see.

Did my drawing homework today, which was to draw a bottle. Seems simple when you say it but in reality it was so so difficult. After that I drew something in my own style, and I find that it makes me very happy to be creating art again. I now need some fresh air though, because I spent all the weekend inside. I would in fact love to stay at home but I know that if I don't breathe some outdoors air I'm going to go insane. Might also make it in time for sunset!

Matt saw how upset I was about my haircut and shaved his beard and mustache in solidarity. I knew he was quite insecure about shaving so I was super surprised he'd do it so willingly and spontaneously. Not only did it make me appreciate him a ton more than I already did, but also he looks super handsome! He truly is the gift that keeps on giving.

After waking up I think my new hairstyle looks like absolute shit. Man this guy was really sweet but maybe he focused way too much on the details, and I think that prevents the hair from freely moving about. It looks like early Carlitos Balá if you know what I'm talking about. I might go again today to ask for some trimming on the sides because the way my hair naturally flows makes it look like I'm wearing a cheap wig. Nothing against him in particular though, I think he really tried his best but damn.

Finally mustered up the strength to try a new hairdresser, since mine is in LP and I don't know when I'll be visiting again. The last time I got a sort of pixie cut which I loved, but it had grown too long by now, so I had to try someone new. Overall I like what he did but my fringe is quite short and the shape of my sides resembles a mushroom, so yeah. Thankfully my hair grows really quickly so in about two weeks the shape will have improved I think. Still, the guy was super nice and detailed-focused, so I'm sure that if I give him more indications next time it'll work out better.
