People Who Treat Words Lightly
Words like
“connection,” “friendship,” “care,” “sincerity”
are not light.
They take time.
They grow through shared moments.
They require action
before they can be used.
And yet,
more and more people throw these words around casually.
“I feel a connection,”
and then disappear without explanation.
“We’re friends,”
but avoid real conversation.
“I care,”
while treating the other person carelessly.
The problem isn’t the words.
It’s the lack of responsibility behind them.
Words carry weight.
Once you use them,
you are meant to support them with actions.
Those who can’t do that
protect the words by cutting the relationship instead.
That’s why the ending feels careless.
No meaning remains.
Only the other person is left behind.
But here’s what matters.
Meaning itself hasn’t become shallow.
There are still people who treat meaning with care.
People who choose their words.
People who choose conversation over silence.
People who try to talk before walking away.
They may be a minority.
But being a minority doesn’t mean being wrong.
Those who can’t treat words lightly
don’t treat relationships lightly either.
I want to be that kind of person.
And I choose to connect
only with people who are the same.
