Only stuff I& will not do is the Dream Team, Harry Potter, and anything related to or promoting russia or its culture.

Hi! My& name is Luigra, or Jack, or Joy! (wow! Lots of names!)

No third person pronouns truly fit me&, but for the sake of convenience you can use anything. Don't ask me& about the ampersands, those are my& first person pronouns!

Any sort of discourse gives me& very bad anxiety so I& will kindly ask not to bring it here. This extends to dni lists/banners. I&'ll block you if I& don't like you, and I& advise you to do the same! On a bad day I& might block those that follow if you have a dni, please don't take it personally! I& don't mind who uses my& stuff though.

I& hate almost all other editing servers. Most of them die within two weeks and are full of discourse that makes my& head hurt. So I& made my& own server - it's mainly for me& to share whatever cool stuff I& find on the internet, all related to graphics as that's the topic of this blog.

Seriously, I&'m so tired of this in other servers! No DNIs in here whatsoever, for the love of Prime don't bring DNIs into here!

We still require common decency in here, and I& will take no bullshit. This is a server for FUN, not ethical debates! And if that sounds like something you'll enjoy, hop on in and talk to us! We'll have lots of goodies for you in store.

Depends on what you need to do? If you just want a very blurry gif for some reason, you can do it in Ezgif in the effects section:

Once you upload your gif, you can go to Gaussian Blur and select how much blurring you want (although be wary, it doesn't play nice with large size gifs in my& experience)

If you want more control/some other effect, you can do it in Photopea by uploading your gif there, selecting every layer in the gif, and applying a Gaussian/other blur to it in Filter -> Blur -> Gaussian Blur...

and... there you have it? However, just in case if you meant something different, I&'ll also show you how I&'d do other effects:

You might want to have a blur transition so it goes from blurry to sharp, you can of course do it in Photopea by slowly changing the amount of gaussian blur for each frame layer until it's sharp, but I& have found that it's easier to do this in a video editing program than in Photopea. I& used CapCut for this example because it's free and comes with this effect pre-installed:

There is also a regular blur effect that you can then just keyframe to your liking!

So it turns out like this after exporting and converting:

Now, if you mean you want to blur the edges of the gif themselves, then you must keep in mind that gif as a format does not support transparency. However, as I& explained in one of my& previous tutorials on apng, it's possible to do this with animated pngs!

Please do keep in mind that apng weighs A LOT. Please only use it for very short gifs! For this reason I&'ll be shortening the gif a lot.

First, apply a blurry clipping mask of your choosing:

Then, go to File -> Export as -> PNG

Then save your APNG! Tumblr does not support those yet, but you can view the result here on Imgur:

Have you ever had this problem? You find this super pretty clipping mask that you wanna use...

...But when you try to save it as a gif, it suddenly breaks the pretty blurring?

I&'m currently on a little bit of a hiatus from Tumblr, but! Not a silly question at all!

So masks are called that because they can be used as clipping masks in various programs that allow it - most commonly Photoshop, but I& prefer to use free programs such as Krita or Photopea. Those are desktop programs, but I& heeeeard that Medibang Paint should in theory be free, on ios, and have clipping functionality?? Not sure! I& prefer to do all my& editing on desktop these days.

Side note, Photopea is a browser-based editor, so it may be possible to use it from mobile! Haven't tried tho.

Clipping masks may work differently depending on the program, but typically there will be a setting for a layer to turn it into a clipping mask, or a setting to clip layers above to layers below. What this does is that only the parts of the image that are on top of the mask will be visible.
