Chinstrap penguins, despite being the most abundant penguin specie, was reported by @natgeo to have a population drop of more than half as compared to half a century ago. While the exact reason for the decline has not been established, we believe the decline in their feed (krill) due to warmer waters and record-breaking temperatures (above 20 deg celsius) in Antarctica definitely didn’t help! A day trip out from Medellin, Colombia, to the small town of Guatape. Did a short (but exhausting) hike up El Penon - a massive rock hill on the outskirts of the town, followed by a tuk-tuk ride to this most colourful town of Colombia, spending the rest of the afternoon exploring the different zocalo (3D painted panels) adorning each building.
