Another second year came into talk about her interview for London College of Fashion. Her work was really varied and had a range of style of work. Her photography work was really striking and her the layout of her work was really beautiful and neat. She said that the interview process was pressuring as the interviewers were going through her work extremely quickly so she had to make sure she was talking about her work to show her passion and the importance of bits of her work.

I feel it's really important to share work on things like Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest ect. Artists are always looking to collaborate and may find your work online for exciting projects. I have created a college Instagram account and have my contact details as well as using good hash tags.

I think using digital portfolio are really useful because you can be very neat and it won't get damaged and it's easily transferable and can be edited throughout the creation process. The negative to it though is that you can't include any texture that's open to feel and express your work if you've made something.

I saw a range of really beautiful work in these portfolios and I really enjoyed seeing a variety of work and specialism. I like the use of texture and versatility and will fake inspiration in my own portfolio from these examples. I don't feel very confident about my own skills of presentation because I am extremely creative but I find it difficult to present my work perfectly. Layout Variety Show off your skills.

A creative portfolio is a way to demonstrate your skills and versatility through the edited best bits of your work to show to university’s and employers. A portfolio can include written pieces like essays or creative pieces, moodboards, film or video, 3D pieces etc. Top tips: - research your progressions route, and it’s admission criteria for portfolios. - research application and portfolio due dates for your progression route. - ensure your name is on the back of every thing. - keep everything you create in college sage and flat. - show of your skills. - invest in a good quality portfolio case. - do everything to your best ability in college. - more variety to choose from makes a better portfolio. - keep your sketchbooks safe. - start a budget for the portfolio.

When creating CV's I think it's important to keep the look professional and sleek. The wording is really important as well as the amount of wording because employers won't want to be reading too much information as they may be looking at many CV's. Example CV 3 I feel is too busy as well as too much information. It's unprofessional as well. The font is difficult to quickly read and should just be black and white. Cover Letters in my opinion are important to send with your CV because it gives the employer more of an insight into you and your character and why you should be hired. Example Cover Letter 2 I like but I feel there is too much information and too much colour, but I like the barcode so that employers can view other work easily.

I liked receiving good feedback about my work as it made me feel more confident and happy about my starting point of my project. I know where my skill sets are. I identify it by knowing how confident I am, wether I am anylising or evaluation my questions etc. I feel a bit less confident looking at others work as they're sketchbooks are a lot more visual than mine because I do a lot more writing about artist research. I want and know how to improve my visual creativity by doing sampling and colourways as well as moodboards.

I did enjoy the neon lights. I felt that the colour of the neon was enjoyable to look at and the shapes that contained the lights were effective and worked well together.

I felt I would’ve benefited more if I had more than just 1 minute and also if Sarah had asked me some questions about my ideas, as I then would’ve had to quickly prepare my answer.

This is my time lapse piece for the Future project. In my test shoot, I set up my phone and time lapsed it to show my process and how I took pictures of Maddie at different angles and changed the lighting to get a variety of shots.

Plant shadow - I felt this was a good example of a time lapse, even though I didn't find it very interesting. I felt the next example had a much better flow and the movement in it of people and cars made it easier to see the potential of a time lapse effect. The time effect time lapse was interesting because the video itself is slow, yet the clock face is moving really quickly. I like watching the growth of something through a time lapse, like the growth of a plant. I like the different shapes that are produced as well as shadows and movement.

This task was interesting and enjoyable as I like business and the different sectors to it. I felt there were tasks we were given that weren't very relevant like tax, and would've found it more useful to look at percentages in business and doing situtstions and questions as a class.

When creating my black and white mood board I felt it was important to include white space so the board didn't look cluttered. I wanted to include a colour way and the images of solar panels to show the context and theme.

Direct + Limited It's important on a mood board to not clutter, white spaces (gaps) always have more of an effect. Visuals, object colours, tone, line, samples and selected words are all key to a good mood board.

I also enjoyed the live drawings that we did in the morning, I felt it developed my confidence more in drawing and I was developing useful skills.

Primary Source Drawing. I enjoyed looking at different objects and shapes to draw but with the skeleton felt a little bit disrespectful especially when drawing the fox, I feel rude because it was killed just to be stuffed and looked at, and nobody would do that to a person, bodies are looked at and researched once a person has died, it should be the same with animals. I enjoyed using mixed media to draw like pencils, chalk, graphite and charcoal.
