It was Charlieâs first weekend back to work at the bakery since the attack. The last month had been spent sorting through all her own traumas and emotions over it but she finally felt okay enough to go backânot only mentally but physically. She all but had full mobility in her arm after being shot but she kept a wrap around the wound, the area not quite fully scarred just yet.Â
She was putting trays of muffins and smaller pastries into the display case when someone walked in and she glanced over. âYou need help picking something or do you know what you want?â

Lucille walked into the bakery, more so out of boredom than anything else but sheâd heard that the witch there made the best sweets on the island. And as Lucille looked over the pastries in the case, she heard the womanâs voice form behind the counter. Lucille looked up at her and let out a soft hum. âWhat do you think the baker would recommend?â Frankly, she hoped she would meet the witch sheâd heard chatted about around town. Most witches didnât take too kindly to vampires, which Lucille supposed she could understand but she couldnât decide if it was more amusing or annoying when they would get all fidgety around her. Sheâd heard this witch was a bit cold though, so she was curious if sheâd be any different.Â
