with it being mizu5 season again can we all think a little harder before making “mizu5 but it’s [insert ship here] :3” fics/art/edits/whatever else. mizuki’s storyline and the plot of mizu5 isn’t a silly fun ych base, it is a very real and seriously handled storyline about a character being outed to her closest friend. seeing people casually throw other ships in there very much feels like it’s casting some shade of disrespect on the story, ESPECIALLY when about 80% of these that I’ve seen were akitoya or ruikasa; if you see a storyline specifically about a transfeminine character and her friend who is also a girl and go “omg but what about my yaoi!” that’s.. not really a good look. this fandom already has an oversaturation of content around the boys, and shoving them into a story about a trans girl is just. not nice. that’s not to say you can’t draw from mizu5/ena5 in other ships, characters, and stories— it’s well-written and extremely intriguing, of course you’d want to— but please think about how you do that and take the time to consider what you’re actually doing! instead of going “woah i can make this yaoi” maybe first let’s appreciate the actual well-written and deeply harrowing story about a trans girl okay? please? there’s enough yaoi already please just let them have this
