The guy didnât seem too concerned about what was on the floor so Isaac didnât give a second thought to it, either. However, as the stranger offered up a cigarette his interest perked up and he sat forward. âSure, thanks,â Isaac nodded, glancing up to him as he reached for the box of Marlboroâs to take one for himself. âYou live around here?â he asked, sticking the cigarette between his lips as he stood and gestured for him to light it up. âOr are you just passing through?â
Lucas extended his hand out to offer a light to the newfound cigarette that the stranger had taken from him. The question caused Lucas to chuckle with short amusement if only because he had never truly left Wilmington and the idea of being a stranger passing through was a bit humorous given his history in the town. âNah man,â he said, shaking his head, âBeen here for a while nowâ He added. âWhat about you? Canât say Iâve seen you around here a lot.â And he liked to think he had gotten familiar with most residents who lived in Wilmington, either from his childhood or even from the shop.

âWe were a mess.â The brunette said with a laugh. It was still shocking that between all those people she knew in high school, she had come out still having some kind of friendship with Lucas of all people. Life could be wild at times. Scrunching her face at the mention of birth, she shook her head. Somehow, it just rubbed her the wrong way and even the sight of a pregnant belly made her skin crawl. Plus, children were cuter when she could give them back to their parents. âThatâs good. That youâre happy, I mean.â As for Isobel, she couldnât be certain anymore. Maybe the key was a dog. Something sheâd been thinking about for a while now. âI think Iâd go to Paris.â Sheâd always loved it there despite the language barrier. âMaybe California. Iâm not entirely sure. I think Iâd just travel for a bit. What about you? If you werenât here â where would you be?â
âYeah but look at us now, weâve got most of our shit together these days,â Lucas said with a faint smile. He certainly didnât imagine their future being this way but it was easy to see how much worse it could have been. For now, Lucas just counted his blessings and moved on. âWell, itâs better than being a miserable old bastardâ That title surely belonged to his father at this point. plus Lucas was happy for the most part, though arguably he could be happier. âParis?â Lucas scoffed with a grin, âOf course, youâd choose Parisâ He shook his head at her only teasing. âI donât know, maybe Bali or Hawaii or somethinâ with lots of sun and a beach. Okay, how many drinks until youâre really hammered? After all these years I forget.â
isobelcerciâ:
âWeâre all grown up, who would have thought.â The brunette said with a laugh given how far theyâd come from being the drug dealer and the popular girl who bought drugs from him. A shoulder rose and fell at the mention of the perfect guy. She also felt like sheâd found that but perhaps timing was off. âI donât know, I guess not.â Leaning her head back against the head rest, she let her fingers drum upon the armrest of the chair. âI think itâs more the birth and the fact that my body will never look the same, but the sticky bits and fact that they can talk is horrible.â Plus they talked back. She wasnât sure if she could handle a child talking back to her. âGood answer.â Isobel winked as she rose her glass to her lips. At the next question, she let out a deep breath and nodded. âYeah. I think I could. I donât really have anything keeping me here. My family doesnât speak to me. Iâve lost some friends, thereâs no romance holding me back.â Maybe it was time for a change. A place where she could start over. âA new life doesnât sound half bad.â Peering back at him, she gave an half-hearted smile. âAre you happy with your life?â
âYeah, I guess so. Definitely donât miss those daysâ Lucas said with the shake of his head. While there were a lot of positive memories with his friends and family, he knew that he went down a very slippery slope that could have turned out a lot worse. The only positive was how different his relationship with Isobel seemed to transform from high school and now. âI get that birth is a beautiful thing but looks pretty fucked up to meâ He cringed slightly, not faulting her for her decision. âYeah, I think Iâm happy. I mean things could be a lot worseâ He answered. After all, he wasnât dead or in jail, that was enough for someone like him to be happy. âAlright since that new life doesnât sound so bad, where would you like to jet off to then?â He asked with the raise of his brow, a bit curious as to what her answer would be. If he had to guess, probably somewhere a lot bigger than Wilmington.Â
matecalvarezâ:
It was a loaded question but in all reality⌠the answer to it was yes. Mateo was brought up with strong convictions â convictions that were not easily challenged and he hadnât had a chance to question them, nor did he want that. It was the one part of him that he was still unwilling to give up on. It was the loyalty in his blood that made him unable to see it any other way. ââI think that⌠maybe he had valid reasons, but none of those reasons were somethinâ we couldnât tackle together. Simple as that.ââ He shrugged, but then winced at the freshly fixed up wound; a reminder. ââHeâs here now.ââ He repeated. ââWhat about those months that he wasnât here and he couldâve been dead in a ditch somewhere? Or couldâve been drinkinâ beer and playinâ poker with our enemies? Thereâs no fucking trust there, not at all, not once you take off with club secrets.ââ He shook his head, but he doubted that his point was going to come across as reason to Lucas. They didnât see it the same way. His evasive response caused Mateo to actually look up at the President again. ââIt does matter,ââ He maintained. ââSo why canât you answer it?ââ He couldnât deny that there was a misplaced anger bubbling up in there, but he was incredibly bothered by Owenâs words. Bothered probably didnât even come close to it. Hurt was more likely. ââDo you want the truth?ââ
Lucas often saw him and Mateo as two sides of the same coin. They were both obedient to a fault, meticulous in their plans, and turned to reason in times of distress. It was what made them work together so well and what made them natural leaders. However, it was beginning to dawn on Lucas that perhaps they did have one difference ââ their ability to forgive. People within the club mightâve thought that Lucas threw everyone a forgiveness card ââ Sydney, Owen, and anyone else who wronged the club and were still alive to talk about it. Lucas might have had his reasons for each case but it was clear those reasons didnât seem to line up with Mateo, not this time around. âYou think youâre the only one who was pissed off during those months? You werenât. But I was never worried about him tellinâ our secrets or forgetting about all of us. Because he didnât, not really anywayâ Did Lucas wanna punch FItz for never calling and checking in? Absolutely. Despite that, Lucas never stopped trusting the guy and he thought that Mateo could say the same but it seemed like it was the opposite. Even looking at Mateo now, battered and bruised for his own sake, there was no question that he still trusted Mateo with his life despite their disagreement, but it was becoming more clear that their sense brotherhood was slightly skewed. âYeah, I do. Whatâs the truth?â he asked, though there was a part of Lucas that wanted to let things go, to admit their wrongs and move on, it didnât seem like either of them was on board for that tonight. Lucas didnât expect to hear anything new, after all, he wasnât completely ignorant to the chatter amongst the club the last few months but what he really wanted to know was if Mateo agreed with the gossip or if he still remained on his side.

Itâd been some time since she dropped in and paid Lucas a visit, so, taking note of it being fairly quiet on the inside, she had decided to just that. And with goodies, for that matter. The brunette carrying a bag of baked deliciousness from a few blocks over. âI come bearing snacks, Luc.â She confirmed, smiling to herself as she did so, assuming he was probably out back, considering he wasnât obviously within her eyeline. So, making her way over to the chair, she decided to take a seat, the normal kind, not the kind that would potentially leave her coming out with a tattoo, that is. Thankfully, it hadnât taken long for the blonde male to emerge, causing the woman to rise to her feet as she held up the bag, rustling within her grasp as she did so. âIf youâve already eaten, thatâs tough. âCause you will be eating more.â This, the woman who could easily out-eat truckers triple her size, and proud of it for that matter.

With no more clients in the appointment book for the day, Lucas decided to sit in the back office and finish up some sketches. He managed a few before the bell on the door and the familiar voice rang through the building. Shutting his sketchbook closed, Lucas eventually made his way back out to the front of the studio to notice Cleo sitting quite comfortably in one of the chairs. Letting out a sigh as he crossed his arms over his chest, Lucas shook his head at her, âWhy is everyone âround here trying to feed me?â He asked with the raise of his brow. It was mostly rhetorical and mostly meaningless since a few seconds after he spoke he was reaching over to grab the bag of baked goods. Soon enough his face was stuffed with cookies and he found his curiosity still lingering, âAlright so why are you sulking around here anyway. Thought youâd be off at The Hideaway with Bree or somethinââ Unless Bree had already taken the new job then that would surely explain it.Â
isobelcerciâ:
âYouâll get over it, Iâm sure.â Isobel said with a sly grin on her lips as she peered over at him once more at the mention of the playboy mansion. âFor a day, maybe. Could be fun. Maybe youâd spend your last few minutes in an orgy. Though, that might be enough to kill you on its own.â Pushing a strand from her face, she nodded her head and lifted her pinky as if to signal that she was ready to pinky swear on it. He wore black and leather pretty well that she felt she didnât actively want to change his style. At least not yet. Shockingly, he turned down the concept of marriage and children. Somehow, sheâd always expected for some girl to finally wear the male down. âThat doesnât sound half bad. At least youâll have a dozen of bitches. Maybe even better than the playboy.â She teased as she hoisted herself back up on the nearby bench. When he echoed the same question, she let out an exhale. âIâd marry the right guy if he came along.â As of right now, sheâd only seen that with two people. âI canât my head around kids so Iâll have to say no to that.â Chewing on the inside of her cheek, she thought up another question. âBiggest regret?â
âI donât know, doesnât sound as appealing to me now as it did ten years agoâ Lucas shrugged his shoulders. Perhaps that was a testament to how much he had grown over the last decade or maybe half-naked women in a mansion just werenât his last dying wish. âYeah, and I take it the right guy hasnât come alongâ Otherwise sheâd be taken up for sure. âYeah, I figured you werenât a kids person, theyâre always sticky and never shut up, sounds like your worst nightmare actuallyâ Lucas added with a faint laugh, only half-joking. âI donât have any regrets. Lifeâs too short for âemâ Lucas answered straight away. He used to think he had a lot of them but the older he got the more he realized it was best to live in the present and make up for the past. Thinking of another question, Lucas went silent for a moment before asking Isobel, âYou ever think you could leave Wilmington for good? I donât know, like start a new life somewhere else?â He asked the same question he had been asking himself lately.

at Downtown w/ @lucasxreevesâ
The weather was pretty forgiving and Isaac took the time to just sit back and watch the people go by, trying to get a closer look at it all. Sometimes when you were in it, you couldnât get the full picture, so stepping back was a great way to figure out what was really going on. The people were pleasant, living their own American dream and often it seemed a little too good to be true from where he was sat. As a particular guy walked past him, he heard something thud to the ground and catch his attention. âHey,â he called out, pointing to the fallen item. âYou dropped that.â
Lucas was on his way back to the tattoo studio after grabbing lunch with some of his biker buddies down the street. Walking past the busy downtown area, Lucas lit up a cigarette and figured heâd take a quick break on the corner to finish up his smoke before returning to work. Somehow Lucas managed to let his receipt from the copper penny and loose change slip out of his pocket when he pulled out his lighter, which was brought to his attention by a stranger, âItâs alright. It ainât importantâ Lucas responded with the shrug of his shoulders, âWant one?â He asked, extended the box of Marlboroâs to him.

âJesus,â Owen scoffed with the shake of his head, though he was far from surprised seeing as social media was running rampart with that bullshit nowadays. Maybe it was because Owen was overall a pessimistic kind of a guy, or because he was overtly religious, but he found the whole thing laughable. âDonât see how a bunch of stars are gonna tell me things about myself that I donât already know â and to get a tattoo of it? Thatâs some voodoo shit, man.â Now he was just complaining to complain, but what else was one to expect from the eldest Fitzpatrick? âHa-ha, funny. Seriously, though, kid needs a hobby other than poker ân askinâ me every five minutes to take their shirt off at work to get tips â so, tread lightly,â he smirked. He loved Jamie, and of course he supported him no matter what, but there came a time where Owen wondered when he was finally going to go off on his own path. It was no secret that the deli was more of his baby that Jamieâs, and while he wasnât about to push him out, he was curious when the other shoe would drop. âYouâre tellinâ me, man. Canât even talk her down, sheâs a stubborn woman.â He shook his head, knowing that Lucas knew his family probably as much as he did, having grown up around the craziness alongside of him even if they didnât share the name. Pressing his lips together, Owen nodded at his friendâs declaration, glad that he still trusted him enough to share official business even if the other guys probably wouldnât have been happy with it. At the end of the day, he was still a Dark Skull at heart and heâd never do anything to betray the ones who gave him so much in his life. âAtta boy,â he concurred. âYouâve been watchinâ him all these years, workinâ on the inside. You know what shit flies and what doesnât, what needs to be worked on.â It was the truth, at least as far as Owen is concerned. âThey should be damn lucky to have you leadinâ âem, Reeves. Seriously. And John should be countinâ his fuckinâ blessings that his son ainât a headass.â
It was hard not to laugh at Owenâs take on the astrology tattoos, but truth be told, it was closer to how Lucas felt about the whole ordeal as well. However, turning away customers when you were a small business, to begin with, was frowned upon so despite the fact that he thought it was stupid or beneath him, Lucas did it anyway. âWhat? You donât believe your fate is defined by a bunch of stars in the sky?â He said sarcastically with a chuckle, âYou already sound like your Ma now, too.â Didnât they say you turned into your parents when you got older? Because it seemed to be ringing a bit true in both of their cases now. âWell, weâve got a strict no shirt, so shoes, no service policy around here. If he can abide by that then heâd fit in perfectlyâ Lucas hoped at least. Jamie always seemed a bit scattered but he figured if he took an interest in the process and the art then perhaps all his focus could go into that and heâd find himself in less trouble. While Lucas had all the dark skulls bikers to look after, that same brotherhood was extended to not only Owen but Jamie as well. In the end, they were family, no patch could tell them otherwise. Continuing with the tattoo gun, Lucas was happy to be able to chat with his friend since it seemed like they didnât do much of that ever since Owen had left the group. Suffice it to say, Lucas missed having him around. Ever since he had taken over, Lucas had been through the wringer. Members questioned his leadership and his orders, doubted his intentions, some even went as far as to alert John about it. However, in the last few months, Lucas liked to think he earned his place at the top and it was nice to hear that Owen thought so too. It was that appreciation that caused the faint smile on Lucasâs features to light up, âYeah well, you know John, loves finding the bad in everything instead of the good. Itâll be fine. Pretty sure the only thing I gotta worry about right now is Mateoâ He sighed, âYou really didnât help talkinâ all that shit to him by the way. Do me a favor, just make things right with him, okay?â It was probably a big ask since it meant putting aside his pride, but Lucas needed to nip this issue in the bud before it began to rot within the group.

matecalvarezâ:
There was an elephant in the room, and they both knew it. It was no wonder when the casual chit chat didnât cut it anymore, and Mateo just nodded at Lucasâ words, more to himself than anything else. ââThe Taylor chick fixed me up pretty good, Iâll be fine,ââ He still reassured his best friend, glancing at the sling briefly before shifting his focus back on the blonde in the room. His jaw clenched at his next words, though. Heâs not a brother anymore and when we find new business to use, we wonât need his deli either. Mateo had thoughts on it, of course, but he felt like bringing them up to Lucas at this point was a cause for more conflict. ââYou know Iâm all about letting shit go,ââ He finally started off, and it was the truth. For the most part at least, Mateo truly was not a grudge holder. ââBut there are some fuckinâ limits to everything, and he not only pushed them, heâs miles over crossing those lines.ââ He explained. ââI dunno what to tell you, Lucas. Some things are just not forgivable, and they ainât enough to bury the hatchet either. Betrayal isnât something we should take lightly. I donât take it lightly,ââ He quickly added, trying to form sensible thoughts into sentences. ââYou know what he told me? Itâs one thing telling me to go fuck myself and not go to the deli again, but why does he seem convinced youâd choose to go down with him over anyone of us?ââ
Lucas was grateful that Amy had answered the call to take care of Mateo on such short notice. Perhaps having her around more would be necessary if they were going to be pulling stunts like this a lot more often. Still, Lucas kept that at the back of his mind for now. Staring at Mateo, Lucas could tell they were still going to have the same disagreement on this particular issue. While Lucas understood Mateoâs side, for the most part, he and Owen were best friends and had grown up together and unfair as it mightâve been, he wasnât going to let anything bad happen to him no matter what the club thought. âAnd you think him taking off was unforgivable?â Lucas asked with a slight scoff. Obviously, Lucas didnât see it that way but he was also looking at it through a different lens. âItâs not betrayal. Not even close. He had a kid to think about. Could he have handled it better? Yeah, no shitâ That much Lucas had known for certain but Owen talked a lot of shit that probably made things more difficult when it came to understanding, accepting, and ultimately forgiving. âI donât take betrayal lightly either. But here Owen is, still helpinâ us launder money, still looking out for us even if you donât fucking see itâ Owen might have apologized to Lucas but he didnât apologize to the rest of the club and Lucas understood that wasnât right but at this point, he wasnât quite sure how much it would mean to some of them regardless. As Mateo went on, Lucas let out a deep frustrated sigh, âDoesnât matter, unless you think itâs trueâ And if thatâs how Mateo viewed him when it came to the choices heâd make then perhaps it would tell them a lot more about their dynamic than he thought, âDo you really think Iâd pull something like that?â
isobelcerciâ:
âEspecially with all the treats Iâve bought.â She wiggled her brow towards the back of snacks sheâd brought for his dog, all of which he wanted her to leave with. âThatâs not what I expected but Iâm impressed.â Somehow, she imagined his last moments would be on a motorcycle but maybe there was more to him than his club. âIf I wasnât modelling,â nothing of note but still a step up from coning older, rich men, âI would probably be doing something in fashion. Iâd like to think that I might be a good fashion designer. Maybe even a stylist.â Not much of a talent but something different, nonetheless. âKind of stupid,â she laughed as she chewed on her cheek and thought about another question. âDo you want kids and if so, what does that look like? How many, girl or boy? Maybe both?â
âStill way too many fuckinâ treats but yeah, guess theyâll enjoy themâ Lucas appreciated the gesture no matter how annoyed heâd be at three am when Harley and Daisy decided to play with anything that squeaked. âWhat? Did you expect me to buy out the Playboy mansion and make my teenage dreams come true?â He said with a laugh and shook his head. It seemed like what he used to think he wanted didnât turn out to be what he wanted at all. âItâs not that stupid. As long as you donât try and style me then I think youâd be good at itâ He wasnât much of a fashion person but Isobel always looked nice so it was hard to argue against it. The question about children caused Lucas to reach for his drink again and finish the rest of the amber liquid in the glass before answering, âNo. I donât think I do. Maybe just about a dozen more dogsâ If only because that was a future he only saw with his ex and since that wasnât over, he decided he was only going to have pets to fill the void. âWhat about you? You want kids? Maybe marriage and the house with the white picket fence, too?â He never took Isobel as the type but he could have surely been wrong all these years.
sfitzpatrickâ:
When Micah told him sheâd âmeetâ him and Lucas and the dogs at the beach, Sean knew better than to actually expect her presence. For one thing, he was the one with the car between them, and for another â well, he couldnât imagine sheâd miss a second of time with the dogs, if she was going to have that time at all. Whether Lucas had been similarly deceived, he didnât yet know, but knowing Micah, it wouldnât surprise him in the slightest. She could be tricky when she was trying to get something, and he couldnât even be angry about it, because she was just so damn good at getting what she wanted â and because, in this case, he didnât really mind hanging with Lucas. It came with a chance to hang with Harley and Daisy, too, after all. Of course, he didnât really mind hanging with Lucas in general ⌠it just wouldnât be something he sought out. âNah, I donât think so,â he agreed, chuckling. âItâs a little terrifying, honestly, how easily she made this happen.â Seeing Lucas had let the two pit bulls off the leash, he did the same for Olive, who wagged her tail and scampered off without delay. âYeah, this is Olive. Sheâs good at makinâ friends, I ainât too worried.â That, and, Olive was tough â though her single eye probably made that obvious. If things got too rowdy for her, she could hold her own.
Lucas muttered a curse under his breath because he too thought they were both idiots for falling for such a scam so easily. By Micah none the less. Still, it was hard to be upset when you were staring out at the beach with a pack of dogs running around so this time around he wasnât going to hold it against her. âYeah, but is she good at seeinâ friends?â He asked, it was hard not to notice the single eye and it caught Lucas a bit off guard but the dog didnât seem to let it phase her so he wasnât going to be bothered by it either. âSheâs cute thoughâ he added, if only because it was obvious. Who wouldnât fall in love with the little pirate pup? âHow are things with you and Micah?â He asked. Though he figured they were probably doing well, if they werenât he would have heard about it by now. Still, with the house and the dog, it seemed like Sean made Micah happy and that wasnât something Lucas could ignore despite whatever beef the two of them had in the past.Â
isobelcerciâ:
âIâm not saying that the fact that you hate games makes it more fun for me, but Iâm not saying that it doesnât either.â She said with a wiggle of her brow as she reached for the bottle and brought it to her lips. After an healthy sip, she placed it back on the surface of the chair until a question came to mind. âIf you had all the money in the world right now and one day to live, what would you do or buy?â She questioned then, peering back at him. While theyâd known each other for a very long time â she realized that they hadnât ever taken the time to ask each other personal questions. Half the time theyâd only been trying to get into each otherâs pants.Â
âWell as long as youâre having fun then who am I to ruin that,â Lucas said, an inkling of a smile faint but noticeable. Thinking a bit about Isobelâs question, Lucas knew his answer would probably be lame compared to anything she had but it was his truth so he said it anyway, âI would buy a house by the beach, the most expensive whiskey I can get, and the squeakiest toy a dog could have and spend the rest of the day there with Daisy and Harley.â After all, money had never been an issue for Lucas. He ran a profitable motorcycle club with a constant flow of cash, but what he did want was some peace of mind, that was something you just couldnât buy. âAlright, your turn. If you werenât makinâ money off your looks, what other job do you think youâd be good at or wanna try?â He asked with the raise of his brow.Â
isobelcerciâ:
She lifted her fingers in the air to conclude that she would keep that promise with a clever scouts honor. Maybe she was hallucinating some kind of tension between the two. âIâm perfectly fine. Iâm here to drink and have fun.â She told him then, knowing that their problem was the conversation they chose to partake. Or that Isobel had lead them on. âOkay, letâs just change the subject and play a game.â Her brow wiggled then as she jumped off of the chair and walked in the middle of the room as she thought about which drinking game they should do. âDo we go with two truths and one lie, truth or dare, never have I ever or a simple question game?â She asked then, walking back over and leaning against the chair. âOr we can dance.â Fat chance of that happening, but she hoped it would entice him to play a game.
âA game? Because you know how much I love games?â Lucas said with an amused chuckle and shook his head. Partaking in another sip, he figured heâd play along since he wouldnât deny her that much. That and he couldnât say no to a drinking game, emphasis on the drinking. âWell since weâre not thirteen years olf attending our first party, Iâm gonna vote for the straight-up questions.â After all, he could take some questions from Isobel, right? It wouldnât be so bad all in all. âWeâre definitely not dancing,â Lucas said with a smirk as he shook his head at her. He wasnât nearly drunk enough for that yet.

âThat never stopped me?â Isobel didnât understand what that meant or if there was something the male was trying to say. âYou donât know who Iâve slept with except⌠Ren.â She said the male and shrugged her shoulder. It was harder to hide given that they were friends. However, sheâd kicked him out last time before heâd vanished. While it was true he never mentioned his hook ups, sheâd seen enough of it. âI know,â the brunette told him as she looked him over and folded her arms over her chest when he took a drink. At the quipped tone, she couldnât help but narrow her eyes slightly. âWhatâs wrong, Lucas?â It hadnât ever felt this strained before. Maybe because the majority of the time, the pair flirted more than anything else. âYou havenât seen me in a few months and you forgot how to be around me?â She tilted her head. âI get that Iâve been an ass butâŚ.â Her head shook as she leaned back and shrugged. âNever mind.â Somehow, sheâd thought things would just go back to normal between the two.
Lucas truly didnât want to get into it with Isobel about Ren of all people so he took another sip from his glass of whiskey. He wasnât interested in rehashing some parts of their past when it came to that ordeal. âAlright, hopefully, I wonât have to know anymoreâ He concluded. It was just a simple request, one he thought could have been unspoken but clearly, it hadnât been. âNothinâ, whatâs wrong with you?â He asked with the raise of his brow since he was fine, a bit uncomfortable about the ex talk but mostly used to it at this point. âI havenât forgotten to be around you. Weâre here drinking just like old times, what more do you want?â Lucas wouldnât have called Isobel an ass, did they have some arguments in the past? Sure, what friends didnât? And while there had been some time between them, things were still more or less the same.
isobelcerciâ:
Isobel couldnât help but give him a dramatic roll of her eyes. âWhy not? Please donât tell me itâs because you think Iâm going to be jealous. Itâs not like you mind that I tell you those kinds of things?â Her brow furrowed while she peered back at him. Sure, they could have said that there was something there once. But theyâd chosen their position and would remain one anotherâs âwhat ifâ. Sheâd distanced herself enough to be over that. Nevertheless, she wouldnât force him to tell her anything. Foldings her legs under her and tucking the bottle in her lap, she lifted her brow at him. âOuch.â Obviously she knew that she was hot and some would go after her, she imagined it was due to either her relationship with Lucas or because theyâd heard she was an handful. Her head nodded as she plucked at the material of her shirt. For a moment, she thought back to Ren and then rose her eyes to look at Lucas. âI guess so. Weâll just have to see, wonât we?â Lifting the bottle, she took another long gulp before handing off the bottle.
âYeah, I do kinda mind but that never seemed to stop you, so...â Lucas shrugged his shoulders once more. Friends or not, he wasnât comfortable with it. Not just with Isobel but everyone else he had somewhat of a relationship with. While he didnât get jealous over her talks about new lovers, he didnât necessarily want to hear about it either. Truthfully, it wasnât any of his business and vice versa. âIt wasnât an insult, Isâ Lucas told her, though he couldnât help whether it hurt her feelings or not. Something told him it wouldnât quite reach her ego. Taking the bottle, Lucas gave himself another generous pour before lifting the glass to his lips to take a sip. âYeah, good luckâ Given her history, she would probably need it if she was trying to score another guy in the club. However, Lucas wasnât worried in the slightest as long as he didnât hear about it then it couldnât hurt him, right?
