The Reblog Notification Bug is fixed!
Staff has confirmed it, and I just tested it out myself. The update now works as intended -- if you're reblogging a post that you wrote the starter for, you will not receive a notification, but your partner will.

Of course the critter would make it’s way into a jefferies tube. Kneeling down beside him, she gave a glance inside. “We should make it a rule, no pets allowed on the enterprise.” she comments with a sigh. “Starships are not meant to have little things running around for this very reason. Any idea how to get it out without hurting it?” She began thinking of the different possibilities and what she could use. “We can… bribe it?” She suggested a moment later. “I can retrieve some food from the visiting diplomat if you can keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn’t scurry off somewhere else, I’d hate to lose it agian.”
"Me?" He turned to look at her, eyes wide. "It -- it -- it had -- claws. Big claws." All he could picture was the thing jumping out at his face while Yar was gone. He'd barely been willing to stick his head in to check on it. But while he didn't know much about alien critters, he knew a fair bit about cats. "...I think it's scared. It's -- it's in a new environment, it doesn't recognize anyone. Can -- can't we find its owner?"

A slight raise in brow before he smiled. It wasn’t his intention to make one of his crew uncomfortable in any situation. For Ed, the power drain was a concern, even if it was the slightest. It meant something was taking power from systems. His concern was if it went on would it become a bigger problem. He needed the information for his report, no matter how late it was.
Following him, Ed stepped into the lift, before he turned his attention to the man beside him. “You’re not used to taking the lead?” He questioned, wondering if he’d put him in an uncomfortable position. “I apologize if this makes you uncomfortable but with Lamarr off duty, that means you’re in charge of engineering.”
Oh god. Here he was with an opportunity to prove himself to the captain, and he was making a mess of it. "I... n-no, sir, I'm not -- not much of a leadership type." Occasionally taking charge of the night shift didn't feel like the same thing. Nothing ever actually happened on the night shift. Until tonight, of course.
His voice slipped into something a little more firm. "But if something's wrong, I'll find it. We'll -- we'll get it taken care of."

Kang did not intend to wait around for a Starfleet battleship. His civilian craft didn't stand a chance against it.
"If you don't return the item in ten seconds, I will open fire." He powered up his weapons. If the shuttle tried to warp he'd shoot out its nacelles first.
He began to count downwards. "Ten... nine... eight..."
"Ohhh god oh god oh god oh god..." A rational response might have been to put full power to shields, or charge weapons in return. But Reg was not known for his rational responses under pressure. It took him til the count of five to realize that he actually needed to reply.
"Alright! Alright, I'll -- I'll beam it over. I just -- I need to ch-check that it's not -- it's not dangerous... first..." It would be just his luck to beam over something that caused one of their ships to explode.

You're not imagining it -- reblog notifications are broken.
Tumblr's most recent update made it so you will no longer receive notifications in your activity feed when you reblog or interact with your own posts. This is a fine idea, but it has a major issue. If you reblog a post that was originally yours from another person, neither you nor the person you reblogged from will be notified.
Let's say Person A makes a starter, and Person B reblogs it with a reply -- Person A will be notified of that reblog. Then Person A reblogs that from Person B to add their own reply -- Tumblr recognizes this as Person A interacting with their own post, so Person A won't be notified, but neither will Person B.
Considering that interaction I just described is the backbone of roleplaying on this site, this is a problem -- it means that any threads you're involved in that your partner wrote the starter for won't notify you correctly. It is incredibly easy to miss replies when this is happening.
I truly believe this was just an oversight and not done intentionally, but it should still be fixed. I have filled out a support form with staff informing them of the issue and I recommend that you do the same. Please remember to be polite! Simply explain what the issue is and why it's a problem. You can even link them to this post if you want.
In the meantime, the best method to avoid this is to @-mention your partner in replies, so that it will still show up in their activity feed no matter what. You can also use RPThreadTracker to keep an eye on your replies and make sure you don't miss anything.
