warm arms wrapped around her back, tugging her into a familiar scent, the sweet citrus cologne of her best friend. taemin had heard the commotion and found her there. “who’s ass am I kicking?” he whispered, sounding more masculine than she was used to. of course, she often underestimated his masculinity, and probably always would. She turned and clung to him, whispering the name of her now ex; he’d turned her down over and over, refused to love her as a woman should be loved, then asked for a break.

Taemin helped her to her feet, then took her to his room, giving them some privacy while she choked out all her problems. He’d always been a good best friend, a good listener, brutally honest but solid as a mountain. “He doesn’t deserve you,” he said simply, almost shrugging.

She laughed dryly, “who does?”

“Me !” he grinned at her, his familiar smile, the one that could mean everything - and nothing. Taemin was a pro at looking both mischievous and comforting at the same time. She borrowed his bathroom to clean herself up, and felt reckless. Her face cleaned, she took a good long look at herself in his mirror, and steeled her nerves. When she returned to his room, she was naked all the way down, except for a pair of pink panties.
