First Days and Games | Biochemistry Class
Professor. What a funny title. Not a title that he fancied he’d ever have, mind you. But it seemed to fit. This was his dream. He had spent the last few weeks locked away in his lodgings, going over lesson plans whenever he had a lull in his other work. DId he get much sleep? No. Did it show in his face? That’s what tea was good for. Â
He was on his fifth cup of the morning when students began filling the halls to go to their respective classes. Setting assign the fine piece of pottery, hands warmed by the fresh brew, he slipped around the counters, placing a packet of information at each seat. Biochemistry could be a fascinating subject, even for those not focusing their attentions upon it. These packets contained a syllabus as well as quick fact sheets and other tidbits of information. On the presentation screen, he had a quick random fact for the day.
Teaching wasn’t just about tests, note taking and lectures. There needed to be some fun involved as well. Being the nerd that he was, he was excited about everything he did. He wanted his students to become as passionate and excited as he was. Beneath the fun fact of the day, he had set up what appeared to be a jeopardy board with some of the more known and simple categories of chemistry. A lot of the work they’d be doing would involve groups and partners and he wanted to get a sense of his students through games such as this to see where everyone was at. It’d be a nice ice breaker as well, without the awkwardness of most.Â
Let the games begin.Â
