Arkha Corvus — his first name Arkha means “sun/bright/radiant” in Sanskrit, and Corvus quite literally translates into crow. We can say his name literally means “sun crow.” In various cultures across East Asia, there exists a three-legged crow that inhabits the sun.

It seems very obvious that the cleaners logo originates from this, which could imply that either Corvus has been alive for years or that he comes from a specific lineage, but I think it’s more likely that he’s been alive for years, just like Kuro.

There is a good chance that Corvus represents Apollo from Greek myth. Apollo is the god of oracles, knowledge, (+ many others), and the SUN. Apollo has three animals that represent him, one of them being crows/ravens. Crows and ravens are Apollo’s messengers…

When Corvus was introduced, he said, “I think I heard…” when talking about Rudo. I thought that was interesting because he probably would’ve said Semiu told him if she did, but I think it was a crow instead, as Apollo has crows as messengers.

Some people have pointed out that Amo resembles Persephone, and in another Greek myth, when Persephone got abducted (Amo being sold) Helios (another greek sun deity who eventually merged with Apollo) was the only one who saw her abduction. In Amo’s backstory, there was a crow which I think was Kuro. Corvus also seems a bit angry talking about how she's been there for years.

Now getting into why I think Kuro is Corvus’s messenger…

Another Greek myth tells the story of Lycius, who was a man born into a wealthy family and then turned into a white crow by Apollo when his family disobeyed orders. This could be related to the white crow in the most recent arc, but I’ve yet to look into it.

Lycius was then turned into Apollo’s “watchman” (word used in wiki…) and at some time was tasked with watching over Coronis (one of Apollo’s lovers, whose name also means crow). While pregnant, she cheated on Apollo with another man, and Lycius flew back to report to Apollo.

Enraged, Apollo took his anger out on Lycius, scorching him until he turned his feathers black (“Kuro” translates to black) as a punishment for being a tattletale and failing his duty. There are many variations of what happened next, but it concludes with Coronis being killed, and Apollo taking the unborn child under his protection, naming him Asclepius before entrusting him to Chiron to train him.

I speculate that Enjin is meant to represent Chiron, especially because Apollo was Chiron's foster father. Additionally, Asclepius grew into the god of healing, and Amo was given the role of “healer” once she officially joined the cleaners by Corvus himself.

She also refers to him as uncle in later chapters, which I find endearing. Apollo is an “kourotrophos”, an epithet given to those concerned with the health and education of children. And as you can see, Corvus loves kids ❤︎

I also do not think Corvus and Kuro are the same person because of the way they present themselves. Lycius was a wealthy man (Kuro has the greatest wealth of information) and talks about how he no longer knows his true form.

Corvus, on the other hand while mysterious, is a confident man and seldom reveals much about himself. It would make sense that he does not, especially if he indeed has lived longer than any of the cleaners, revealing too much about himself wouldn’t be a good idea if he has some relation to the divine.

One reason I am biased toward this theory is when Riyo got injured in Tori, I thought Corvus (if in this case he was Kuro) bringing them to the no man’s land clashed with how remorseful he is when the cleaners get into fucked up shit.

I don’t think he’d deliberately cause harm just so he could open up that box, but if it was Kuro, I wouldn't be surprised especially because Enjin already mentioned how he was a pain in the ass.

One thing that could contradict my theory is the scene in chapter 106 with Momoa and Kuro. There are multiple different people that Kuro has memories of, and we know that one of them has Enjin who is undoubtedly calling Corvus “boss.”

If I were to counter this, I’d say because Kuro has lived an extremely long life and holds many memories, it’s possible that he has shared the memories with every cleaners boss and the memories are either passed down to the new bosses or accessed in some way, possibly through a tattoo similar to Corvus's.

But I digress. Because of chapter 106, it's still possible that Corvus and Kuro are a single entity, so I'm not entirely sure if this theory is valid.

Last thing I’ll point out is how Corvus says he’s the only one who can contact Kuro. Corvus is very precise with his words, and so I don’t think he’d say this unless he literally was the only person who could contact Kuro. But why hide their relationship?

Corvus already mentioned he cannot tell the cleaners everything, though he did not give a reason why. Helios is also considered a guardian of oaths and the god of sight, and if Corvus has sworn some kind of oath, it would make sense that he literally cannot say what he wants.
