i've somehow stumbled into this niche tiktok controversy surrounding a feminist creator because people are calling her a terf, basically whats happened is

- Paris creates feminist content on her own lived experiences

- Transphobes see this content and feel safe enough to be clearly transphobic in her comments

- She doesn't do anything to prevent this

- People see this and claim she's terf

realistically this should've been over by Paris just admitting that she's accidentally cultivated a community riddled with transphobes and then working to solve that, instead she's come out and said that "Woke Leftists" can be woke about absolutely everything but feminism and will get so mad when you want to talk about feminism and will just call you a terf off of "bad vibes". and in this video she consistently uses the same rhetoric that the right-wing use to talk about cancel culture, simultaneously saying terf is a really heavy accusation but also thrown around willy nilly at the same time

so because of this video the situation has gotten significantly worse with lots of people pointing out her mistakes and then lots of people jumping at her defense, but what i've noticed is any time a trans woman gets involved, is that a large overwhelming majority of the comments defending Paris are insanely transphobic to the creator

some of the points used by Paris defenders are:

• we're cancelling people for others' actions now?

literally nobody is cancelling Paris, but saying she needs to take accountability for fostering a space where transphobes feel safe to be transphobic. even if it was an accident

• this is only to silence her because she's a black african lesbian.

being a black african lesbian doesnt put you above any and all criticism??😭

thought i'd spend halloween with a couple of friends, watched unfriended at my house and played monster prom (peak) gets time to go to a CLASSIC mystery horror film at the cinema and were all excited trying to guess what CLASSIC it could be

Scream? Nightmare on Elm Street? Halloween? I'd even watch fucking Friday the 13th🫩🫩
