thank you btb and worthikids for resonating with me in ways i haven't felt since i was just starting as an artist back in 2007. for inspiring me and the way i tackle character/world building, and for encouraging me to expand my creative horizons. because of bigtop burger, i like to think that i'm a more curious artist and that i have grown, making my younger self proud 💚 i can't wait to see how worthi himself continues to grow as well

“ Thanks! What is this? ” [ he's already scooped up a bite ; expression quickly turning from unsure ( likely the bold taste of the espresso, ) to DELIGHTED when all of the flavor comes together. they didn't have tiramisu in Italy 1,000 years ago, but he'll be pleased to know they have good taste! ]

She would've gaped in horror at the knowledge that people in this country willingly binge this pigswallow to the point of vomiting, but she's too busy chugging the offered water. She gasps halfway through, holding a wrist to her mouth and begging her roiling stomach not to make her the next spectacle.
She is never trusting any of her coworkers again. Ever.
"Well, I do desire that such food and I be better strangers." She offers a crooked smile. "But I must admit, your costume is delightful. It reminds me of an old German impressionist film. Not many nowadays are appreciative of the classics."
💀 ⸺ [ it's usually GRATIFYING to see a pretty person recoil ; satisfying to see their pristine faces crack like glass. this instance is a bit different, she's so UNLIKE the usual snob ; polite and proper, and a GOOD SPORT! people don't usually compliment him, especially after sampling one of their abominations. ]

I guess I unintentionally took inspiration like so many other artists! Such a COOL movement, the distortion of the everyday, stylization to convey a theme! huge for cinema. 💀 ⸺ “ Boba, ” [ he parrots, trying to remember what food that was -- DRINK, it's a drink. he remembers making that blueberry water as a gag at the truck one time, but it just wasn't grody enough ... now that he can eat and drink, he's eager to try everything! foods are SO different than they were 1,000 years ago, and luckily, their tastes are usually potent enough for his dulled senses to register. ]

"Victorian royal?" Allen repeated quizically before barking out a laugh, hand waving in the air. "My persona for work is far from how I truly live, Cesare, I assure you. I may method act from time to time to simply never lose muse, but I live, well..." He paused to gesture around at his apartment. "Comfortably."
"So I implore you, please-! Come inside already. I have a spare room you can use, but I am going to need to clean it out first... You see, I used to have a roommate back before you hired me, but he couldn't handle that I took my work home. I turned his old room into storage, but once I scrape clean my personables, the bed shall be yours to use."
💀 ⸺ [ a BED ... how pathetic it is, to realize how long it's been since he's used a bed -- since he's been in a home at all, actually ... but the idea of Doctor driving out a roommate by taking his ' work ' home does raise Cesare's spirits, making him chuckle as he finally enters. ]
“ ... 'kay. I really appreciate it. ” [ hands tucked in pockets, he curiously takes in the space. he's pleased ; knowing that despite everything, he was able to supply the funds for his crew to live COMFORTABLY. ]
“ Heh, I kept reminding myself that the fortune I'd left with you guys would set you up for a while. Never thought I'd see it for myself ; makes me happy. Management didn't really get the concept of ' minimum wage, ' and I wasn't gonna nark ... You deserve it ..! ”
