***Spoilers be getting put in the Boston Crab hold and getting their body broken in half***

Ayo, welcome to the Badlands! Ain’t gonna lie, a brotha been Patiently Waiting for a track to explode on ever since AMC started pushing those promos like that raw uncut on the block. We open with a gorgeous field of red flowers and our man 50 grand, Sunny, decked in red leather on a motorcycle, lookin’ like he on a mission. The narrator says that the wars were so long ago that nobody even remembers them, but considering that there’s a bunch of helpless bastards on the side of the road with their wrists bound and throats cut, I’m guessing that ain’t shit changed but the dot on the range.

Not only do we have to defend our right to even be seen on TV, but we have to fight people who randomly pop up in our tags and tell how we should feel about the mistreatment and erasure of our favorite characters. We have to fight the stereotypes that the white and non poc fandom place on us. We get blamed for being angry and loud when defending ourselves from racist attacks. Black female characters are expected to be strong, independent, and single while every other woman in the fandom gets multiple love interest. Most fandoms only find black female characters worthy of praise when their one dimensional e,g Gold Diggers, Modern Jezebels, Baby Mamas, Uneducated Sisters, Ratchet Women, Angry Black Women, Mean Black Girls, Unhealthy Black Women, and Black Barbies 

We’re expected to support any show that has a female character in it because of feminism, but told we should wait our turn for our time to shine, and if a show has a time period or fantasy setting we’re told we shouldn’t even be appearing in it at all. If a show gets canceled because the writers decided to the pull the bait and switch we’re blamed for the shows demise because we stopped watching, and not because the writers decided to throw the black woman under the bus in favor the the white woman.

Most fandoms view  the black female characters as the biggest bitches no matter what they say or do.They’re always called annoying for some vague reason that their white counter parts are not, they are allowed to act the same way or even worse.

We have another lead black woman in a kick ass show, with a pretty badass plot AND a STRONG POC supporting cast of an Beautiful Asian woman and Fine Latino Man. What is this show you may ask???

Minority Report on FOX starring Meagan Good, Stark Sands, Wilmer Valderrama, and Li Jun Li is a media diamond in the rough with not only an fresh yet familiar main cast but a well written scifi plot-line that features a creative foreseeable future of what could be our world 50 years plus. 

I’ve just finished watching the first 4 episodes on HULU and I have to admit, I’m impressed. Being someone who definitely believed it would be fox’s off-brand version of Sleepy Hollow, I have to stick my foot in my mouth and say this show (minus its ties to the 2002 movie) is quite original. It has it’s own storyline, diverse characters, time appropriate humor, and a great potential to be another fox night hit.

Sure the show may have some things to work on… the whole pre-crime back story is a bit flawed, but we’ll never know if we don’t TUNE IN NOW!!! They’ve already cut down the episode order for the season from 13 to 10, PLEASE DON’T LET IT DIE IN ONE FELL SWOOP! 

I CAN’T HANDLE SEEING MEAGAN GOOD STARING IN A MAIN NETWORK SHOW AND IT GETTING CANCELLED BEFORE HER RIGHTFUL CHANCE TO WOW THE WORLD FULLY WITH HER ACTING FINESSE!!!

(YES…Im still salty about Deception…)

Minority Report (which gets little to no media coverage btw) comes on Mondays @9pm and does not compete air time with Sleepy Hollow, Scandal, The Flash, and The Vampire Diaries: all shows with leading black women and/or strong POC casts. 

Keep in mind however: this show isn’t Sleepy Hollow: The Future Version. It is it’s own show in it’s own right. Lara Vega (Meagan Good) is not Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) and not only is that ok, it is VERY GOOD. I love me some Abbie Mills (who doesn’t) so to say I’d be insulted if FOX gave us an off brand version of her in another show is an understatement. 

It’s more than that though, I want to see Lara Vega! There isn’t just one version of a BAMF Black Woman in charge. And though some people like to compare Vega to Mills in what she ISN’T doing like Abbie, I find her character even more appealing and interesting specifically because she isn’t. 

I want to watch two separate shows, not the BC and AD version of one.

So…in closing. Let’s support this show and give it a chance to see what it’s got!

We have got to watch LIVE! This show is GOOD, but if we don’t support it, it will get cancelled! That would be a true and tragic shame, so LET’S WATCH! And let’s get our family members, our friends, and co-workers to watch!!! Let’s make facebook posts, twitter posts, instagram posts, and tumblr posts about the show! We must SPREAD THE WORD, and get the ratings up!!! We can do it, people! 

I get it… they’re both petite black women and some of you can’t tell two black women apart, but this is some bullshit.

And if you want to talk about the red leather jacket and tight jeans/pants, Martha Jones from Doctor Who wore that look first, everyone else is a “copy”. 

Seriously…. this highlander mentality is annoying.  We get UMPTEEN versions of white women that all look and act the same, and we don’t do this much nitpicking, but when it’s two black women, suddenly it’s a copy?

I watched the pilot twice.  Meagan didn’t remind me of Nicole because Nicole is VERY understated in her portrayal of Abbie.  She does much with a look.  She’s not as obviously expressive.   Meanwhile, Meagan’s very demonstrative, and you get her mindset because she actually written to vocalize how and what she feels.
