hey so psa on unfollowing
everyone deserves to have a safe dash. like, you can have your opinion about what’s most polite in terms of unfollowing, soft blocking, blocking, etc, but at the end of the day, removing yourself from a situation you don’t feel comfortable in / makes you angry is WAY better than starting drama. we’ve had an ABUNDANCE of callouts lately, and some of them have been legitimate accusations, but it’s produced an environment in which we’re afraid at any mistake of being called out publically and losing friends over things we didn’t previously know were an issue.
i know i haven’t been the best at this, but i’m never going to callout or confront someone for unfollowing me. i may be hurt, but it’s not about me. if i posted something that made you uncomfortable, if i didn’t tag things, if you just couldn’t see a connection between our muses, if you didn’t like my ships, idc. at the end of the day, it’s not about me if you unfollow, and i need to respect that.
encouraging people to not unfollow, not soft block, not hard block will only ever escalate conflict. always always always chose the peaceful option. if you can walk away, walk away.
all i ask is that if i’m doing something hurtful, you message me about it just so i can correct these behaviors in the future. but besides that? if you want to unfollow, soft block, or hard block, that’s up to you. i will never call you out, shit talk you, or confront you for unfollowing. it’s just not worth it.
