WINTER SLOWLY MELTS INTO SPRING, the sight of the flowers blooming caruscates yeji — it is only a matter of time before they fade away again in the ever approaching autumn. the season of frost always brings a sense of despondency to the young witch; spring, on the other hand, makes her feel optimistic, eager for the falling of leaves to restart. yeji heads outside the main building with her arms full of books, they easily obstruct her vision making her trip; the pile cascades down the stairs, but yeji is grateful it isn’t her falling. still, a huff comes out as a show of annoyance. “you’re a witch and yet you can’t even stop a pile of books from falling over” she murmurs to herself, levitating said objects back into a pile. someone clears their throat behind her, startling the young adult and causing the books to fall again. “mother nature! you scared me!” comes out amongst nervous laughter — a tell of yeji’s: whenever the witch is frightened or alarmed, she starts laughing. the autumn witch stops after a few moments, breathing in the scent of spring to calm herself down. that is something yeji has always felt she needed to work on herself: she gets so agitated easily — not that the three cups of espresso haven’t contributed to her jittery state. this is why her aunt doesn’t like her drinking coffee… “sorry, sorry! did you want anything?” she asks, turning around and smiling at the other person.

so leo didn’t want to seem ungrateful or anything . . . he was going to this really awesome school and all , and the classes were on really interesting subjects , but sometimes , some of them had lectures and book stuff , and that just wasn’t his thing . today was one of the days where he’d had to endure that , and while walking out of class , he was ready to go home and take a fat nap .

mind fuzzy from being so sleepy , leo doesn’t notice the racket happening in front of him until he walks up and realizes it’s one of his younger housemates . he thinks a cough will suffice in letting her know that he’s there, but the autumn warlock grimaces at the unwarranted consequences of it . “ uh . . . i got it , ” leo decides to address the fallen books before answering yeji’s question , summoning them into his own arms , “ just to be able to get down the stairs . ” a smirk makes its way onto his lips but he means no harm ; he’s just amused by the situation . taking another moment to observe her aura , he tilts his head slightly , “ are you okay ? you seem . . . on edge . ”

to avoid causing a bigger traffic jam , leo takes a few steps forward with the intent of having them walk together , shifting the books in his arms so he can get a better grip on them . he turns back to the girl and his hedgehog familiar curiously peeks out of the hood of his jacket . “ are you heading back to the dorms too ? ”

“ you’re gonna be on your best behavior , right ? ” leo looks down and asks his familiar , cradled in the extra fabric of his hoodie as he walks towards the gardens to meet celia . despite being an autumn warlock , he did actually hang out there sometimes since his ‘ hobby ’ often required knowledge of herbology , but this was the first time he was going there under less clandestine circumstances . a couple students had smirked at him as he walked by , assuming what he was going to go do , but he didn’t bother to correct them . supposedly there were some pretty nice plants to check out ( and eat , if you’re a hedgehog ) , but . . . leo would be lying if he said that was his primary reason for coming . the small creature sneezes and nuzzles further into his shirt in response , but leo is satisfied enough with the answer , frankly not paying much attention to him now that he’s reached his destination . “ me and raph are here for the vegetables , ” he gives the girl a grin , completely at odds with his usual demeanor . at his last spoken word , the hedgehog perks up and signals he wants to be perched on leo’s shoulder to get a better look . “ i knew he was excited . ”

･ﾟ: * ( HWANG HYUNJIN, 20, CIS MALE, HE/HIM ) have you seen LEO SOHN around campus? i hear they’re a SECOND YEAR, AUTUMN warlock with a specialty in SEANCES. i almost never see them without their HEDGEHOG. if they ever want to be a MEDIUM someday they should ease up on being DESPONDENT & BLASÉ. at least you can say they’re INNOCUOUS & PENSIVE, too.
