It’s been a few weeks since the party where you met Chris at, and gosh you haven’t stopped talking to Chris since then. You talk to him almost everyday, it’s become a part of your routine. You either have lunch together or sit on a call at literally 1am, yapping each other’s ass off.

Chris wouldn’t have it any other way though, he loves talking to you, learning more about you, every single day. He watched the way your dimples show when you smile, the way your eyes close when you laugh, the way you roll your eyes when people annoy you, he’s noticed it all and he couldn’t stop staring.

He’s been meaning to ask you to be his girlfriend, but would you agree? He’s heard you talk about how your family’s super strict about dating and stuff, how’d they be disappointed with you, they sent you here to study not to date or party.

It’s been a few weeks and he’s finally got the courage to ask you to be his girlfriend. He’s in his frat house, sitting in the living room, making a poster. He’s surrounded by his friends, he was never the one to get into relationships or dating so his friends where pretty surprised, “Dude you’re actually doing this aren’t you?” One of his friends asked, in disbelief. “Yeah man, m’ gonna make her my girlfriend.”

He had finished his poster, slowing examining it. The messy handwriting, the little drawings, it all shows how real the poster is, how he means every single word written on it.

It was finally time, he was about to ask you to be his girlfriend, he shouldn’t be too nervous, it’s not like he’s asking you to marry him, he’s just asking you to be his girlfriend. He’s outside your dorm room, wearing a black shirt with some trousers, intending to take you out for dinner after. He has the poster and your favourite flowers in his hand, ready to ask you.He gently knocks on the door and patiently waits for you to answer the door.

You’re dressed in sweatpants and a hoodie (that chris literally gave you.) You opened the door and what you say on the other side, was something you thought you’d never see. Chris standing, asking you to be his girlfriend.

Your jaw dropped, He softly smiled and he gently handed you the flowers, you took the flowers and looked back up at him, “I know, This is crazy for you but y/n, I think I’ve fallen in love with you, and I want you to be my girlfriend.” You hesitated, thinking about what would happen if you said yes, your parents would be so disappointed but you desperately wanted to say yes. Make a decision for yourself, not putting someone else first.

“Yes. I’ll be your girlfriend.” You said as tears streamed down your face, you’ve always dreamt of this moment since you were a child, and it’s finally real. Chris rushes to hug you, he hides his face in the crook of your neck, placing a soft kiss there. “Gosh ma, you smell so good.”

You chucked as you cupped his face, and gently kissed him, It was your first kiss, it felt weird, but it felt right. It felt real. Your relationship with Chris felt real.

a/n: first fic of the au! soo excited and i loved writing this, they’re definitely my favourite! Also im not gonna be writing smut for this au, as im not comfortable with it :)

You were never the one to go to parties, growing up in an Indian household your parents never really exposed you to that type of thing. They always told you, “beta, drinking won’t get you anywhere, studying will.” Is what you heard your whole life growing up, so that’s why you always keep your head in books. Only focusing on one thing: your career. Boys and all could come later.

You had been studying for an upcoming exam, all day long, only taking a break to eat or get water. It wasn't that important exam, but you don’t know why you were studying this hard. Maybe because your parents will actually kill you if you don’t? maybe. Your roommate, Amara, got tired of seeing you study, that’s why she told you, “Girl, there’s a party tonight, at the frat house come on we’ve got to go!” You hesitated, you’ve got to study, worse you’ve never been to THAT type of party before. Never been to a frat party before. It’s too distracting, drinking, taking drugs, what else?

“Are you seriously overthinking this? Its just a party it won’t hurt.” She chuckled. You decided to go, I mean it’s not that big of a deal right? it’s just a party, what’s the worst that could happen? You got ready in jeans and a crop top, not wanting to reveal too much. You and Amara went to the party, as you entered, you could smell the alcohol and the booze in the air. God, what did you agree to?

Amara left you to go get a drink for both of you, and as you stood there you couldn’t help but feel a little excited, it looked like people were having fun, like they came here to forget about things, maybe you could try that too. As your eyes wandered around, it stopped on something, or someone. It was a man, definitely taller than you, dark hair and gosh those eyes, he looked so— your thoughts were interrupted as you felt his gaze on yours. oh gosh oh gosh oh gosh.

You looked away quickly, trying to hide the blush that crept on your cheeks. This is was definitely embarrassing, you looked at him again, only to see him staring back at you with a smirk on his face. A stupid smirk. Amara came back with your drinks and looked confused as you tried to look here and there, “What are you staring at?” You looked at her and pointed towards the guy, you’ve definitely seen him before but you can’t remember his exact name.

Her eyes dart to where you’ve pointed, and her gaze falls on the man. As soon as she saw who you were pointing at, she smirked. “That’s Chris! He’s the leader of the frat house ! Does someone have a crush on hiiiimmmm?” Your eyes widened at the accusation, “What? No!” You said defensively, “Yeah sure, I totallyyyyy believe you.” She laughed, You rolled your eyes. You can’t have a crush on someone you’ve just met. Right?

After a while of talking, Amara left you so that she could hang out with her boyfriend, which was completely okay with you. You were standing near the bar, when someone suddenly came next to you, “Enjoying the party?” You snapped out of your thoughts as you looked at who was talking to you. It was the same guy you started at, Chris was his name?

“Yeah, yeah, it’s really cool.” Your indian accent slipping out, you’ve gotten pretty used to speaking english but sometimes that accent just loves interfering. You don’t mind it, you’re pretty proud of your roots. “Yeah? That's nice. I’m Chris by the way.” He said, extending his hands towards you for a handshake. You shake his hand and respond, “Oh, I’m y/n.” He’s even better looking when he’s closer. Gosh.

“S’ a pretty name.” You blushed at his compliment. “Never seen you at parties before, not much of a party girl?” You smiled softly, “Not really.” You looked down and fidgeted with your fingers. “Yeah, yeah. S’ good s’ good.” He looked around, clearly nervous, he’d never been nervous before, what happened to him now? You guys sat in silence for a few minutes before he spoke again, “M’ gonna go, gotta deal, if y’know what m’ talkin’ ‘bout.” You nodded and smiled as he then winked at you and left, you suddenly felt butterflies in your stomach.

Maybe, just maybe going to parties isn’t that bad. You could definitely see the hype now.

Chris had pranked you last week, saying that he doesn’t love you anymore and you should break up, it was a harmless prank but when you heard those words come out of his mouth, you cried. So that’s why, now you’re going to prank him back.

You had seen this trend on tiktok where people didn’t say ‘i love you’ back to their partners, and you decided to try it out with Chris. You already knew how he’s gonna act like a literal child when he doesn’t hear you say ‘i love you’ back.

You were sitting in Chris's room, watching your phone, meanwhile he was getting ready to film a car video. He finishes up and grabs his phone and keys from the bedside table. “Okay, ma. M’goin’ to film a video, I’ll be back,” He leans down and places a kiss on your forehead and then your lips.

“Okay be safe and have fun.” You say as you continue going through your phone. “Love you, baby.” He says as he walks towards the door, he’s about to open the door but then he realises you didn’t say it back. “Baby? I LOVE YOU.” He says a bit louder than last time. “Have fun baby,” At your words, he huffs and comes closer to you and snatches your phone away.

“I said, I.LOVE.YOU.” You laugh at his expression and the sternness in his voice. “Be safe, baby.” He scowls and puts his phone on the desk before snuggling in bed with you, his face buried in your neck. You chuckled, “Chris you have to go film!” He shakes his head and says, “M’ not leaving until you say it back.” He pouts, which makes you laugh. “Cmon, Chris you have to go, Matt and Nick are waiting for you. “Don’t care, m’ not leavin’ until you say it back.”

He grumbles as his phone starts to ring, Its Nick. As he ended the call, he got up from the bed with a grumpy look on his face. “What happened?” You asked, questioning his sudden change in mind. “Nicks being fuckin’ dumb and callin’ me to film a fuckin’ car video.” You can clearly tell he’s still pissed about you not saying ‘ily’ back.

“Bye, baby,” He says as he grabs his stuff and again, “I love you,” You’re fighting the urge to say it back. You still don’t say it, he grabs your face and attacks you with kisses, you laugh as his kisses were tickling you. “Chris, stop it!” you exclaimed, “Not until you say it back.” You laughed harder as his hands reached your stomach and started tickling you. “I love you, I love you!” You finally give in, not being able to hold it in longer.

He stops kissing you and pulls in for a deep kiss. “Good to know. I love you too.” He says as he walks away, hiding his smile. He walks out that door and you wonder how lucky you got, finding a man that treats him like Chris, who loves you like him.

currently, he’s sitting with other artists, waiting for the winners to be announced. when his name gets called for both of the nominations, he’s on top of the world. he couldn’t believe it. his goes up and collects the award, he says his emotional speech and couldn’t help but think how far he’s come.

after he had collected the awards and the ceremony was over, It was time for the interviews, as chris walked on the carpet he saw her. as soon as he laid his eyes on her, his heart started beating faster, second by second. he quickly walked towards the mic, saying a little ‘hello’ in the mic. as soon as she returned the gesture, he didn’t even pay attention to her, too stunned by her appearance. her sunshine personality.

“so, chris. How do you feel? it’s your first ever grammy and you’re already going home with 2!” she asked, enthusiastically. “it’s great, i mean i never thought i’d win and it’s a dream come true. i’ve spent the whole year making the album and i'm really glad to know so many people liked it.” he said smiling to you, since he was way taller than her he had to bend down to the mic so his voice was audible.

as the interview ended, they grew more comfortable with each other, sharing a few jokes and laughs with each other. “it’s been really fun interviewing you, any last words before you go?”

“thank you for supporting me and you,” he took the small mic in his hands so what he’s about to say isn’t audible to anyone and isn’t caught on the mic. “you look gorgeous tonight, call me?” he said as he slid his phone in her hands, wanting her number. she blushed, accepting the phone and putting her number in his phone.

he winked at her one last time, before he walked away. as he walked away, he felt a sudden butterflies in his stomach. he knew that she would be his soulmate, his partner in crime, most importantly, his everything.
