Not Florence Nightingale

Ah good, I was getting ready to claim foreigner to get out of it. Da! Much more like home, was a bit warm before.

That would be a brilliant excuse. Might just have to try it out one day...I'd have to work on my accent. She more mumbled this to herself than to him. I just want it to snow...a good snow would make my day.

Is it not good for me to be out here? I needed to get my coat, zhe weazher is finally getting nice enough for it again.

Oh, I don't know if it's against the rules or not. I was just curious. She laughed lightly, It's great weather though, right?

She grinned, "Wanna go find them?"

"Of course I do," she matched the other girl's grin. 

"You can do it! Maybe get a study buddy," she suggested.

"Maybe. I think Rowan, Cassie and I were planning on studying together but," she shrugged again, "They've hidden away somewhere...again."

"Yup, but she’s really not all that bad! I mean — she just wants the best, that’s all." Molly was always perfect to Lucy. Even father completely loved her for she was the perfect Weasley for Percy. And she didn’t mind following in her footsteps, trailing after her older sister’s shadow. "Oh, I will! Anyways, what have you been up to Florence?" 

She shrugged, "Nothing in particular, really. Just scraping by. I swear the NEWTs are going to kill me."

"That’s the one! She just likes reading, that’s all. And you know, intelligent conversations and all that stuff. Makes her the perfect Ravenclaw," Lucy said. She could never really hate her sister, no matter how different Molly was from herself. "Oh, I will! I’ve been saving money to buy new pastels." 

"Seems kind of boring. Is she always like that?" Florence could understand why people enjoyed learning. After all, she had been free to learn what she wanted before she attended Hogwarts instead of having a structured education like she knew most people had. "That's pretty great. You've got to show me some of your work when you start painitng with it."

Lucy’s smile widened as she could feel her cheeks heat up from the compliment. She usually wasn’t praised for her hidden talent.  "Why, thank you! Molly always says drawing isn’t a good hobby but… I don’t know, I like it. You should see my notebooks, they are covered in doodles! It drives her completely up the wall." 

" 's the Head Girl, right? She's a bit too prim for me to really get. No offense or anything. I just don't get the whole...gotta focus on school and don't do anything that makes you happy. If it makes you happy, you should do it." Her eyes automatically drifted toward Rowan before snapping back to the girl in front of her.

"Well… there’s a princess trapped inside the castle. And off to the side, there’s her knight in shining armor galloping away on his horse to save her!" she explained, pointing to her picture.

"That's brilliant," Florence told her, following the path Lucy's finger traveled. "I wish I could draw. Mine always come out looking like horrible stick figures. This is really good. Like, really really good."

"Oh!" she beamed, "I’m drawing. Wanna see?"

"Of course!" The tips of her hair flashed red for a moment, belaying her excitement, "What's it of this time?"

Yes?

"I said, "What're you up to?'" Florence replied with a laugh.

Why would you? There’s plenty of other people to miss, who are far more placid and dainty, don’t you think?

Because...hell I don't know. You're...you. -He waved his hands in front of him, as if that would explain it all.- If I wanted to miss someone placid and dainty, I would have to actually be interested in that type of person.
