The first picture is from 5 years ago, the second from 2 years ago. Shane, you were something else. You were selfish and rude. You cheated on me, lied to me, stole from me, and physically hurt me. But that’s the disease of addiction. That wasn’t you... I used to know the real you a long long time ago. The real you went to my dads house when he was suicidal and let him cry on your shoulder for hours because I was too high to go. The real you picked me up from my car crash 2 minutes after it happened and took me home and cared for my bruised self all night. The real you went to lunch and dinner with lex and cole almost every day and made us laugh until we peed. The real you tried to get me clean, the real you almost cried when I almost OD’ed at your house that one night. You were always at my place until I lost mine and we were always at yours. Something that will always break me is that your parents thought I was the reason you started using again, but I’d rather than be mad at me than you. Addiction made me think I loved you so much we would get married... and it was a topic of conversation sometimes. You always accepted me for who I was and you stood by me through a lot. After I left, I prayed every night for months that you’d get better... prayers went unanswered. you’ll always have a place in my heart. Thank you for that.
