Love life, love cake

The last day of a job is always a good excuse to bring cake in, make those nostalgic tea breaks last a little longer and the working day slip away a little quicker! Here we a have a mouthwateringly zesty orange and passionfruit loaf cake, and some dulce de leche filled madeleines (which I've never made, and definitely didn't master!)

Made this absolutely incredible Tres Leche cake... So good even the primrose bakery gave it a node of approval! Soaking the cake overnight in a heady mixture of cream, evaporated milk, condensed milk and rum certainly made you feel every mouthful!

Yummy coffee break cakes and treats today! Orange almond and pistachio polenta cake and rose meringues... Though as a classic novice I went a little heavy on the rose...

Pretty little pink heart welshcakes... With edible gold glitter in the mix for extra glam. Perfect gift for this weekends wedding. Just need to make another 3 batches :/

Charlotte's dad turns the big 60! So underneath this masterpiece of icing (thanks to the boy who bakes' book) is a monstrous chocolate coffee cake! 🎂 delicious!

Some rather cheeky baby shower cupcakes finished off with edible glitter popping candy and little pinwheels all colour coordinated in little boxes! A bundle if joy that doesn't need a nappy change!

Talking if lemons... My timehop app sent me this one from last year which I never shared! A lemon curd cake with yummy lemon meringue icing. Blending the icing from pale yellow to rich yellow was fun!

Got some good action from the Juicy Salif this week... Whipped up some mini Lemon cakes... My absolute favourite lemon zest, lemon syrup and lemon icing... And some cheeky pistachio and raspberry financiers to follow....

TA DA!! Possibly my most extravagant creation yet! He ultimate dream fairy princess castle cake. All edible. A glittery girl tastic creation for a friends daughter. Fun, stressful, arduous, exciting and a huge relief to get it delivered in one piece. May not volunteer to do it again though....

Impressing my new peers with weekly meeting cake. This apple pie cake with hints of cinnamon is so delicious and easy to eat!

KABOOM! Back with a bang.... I indulged my work colleagues with not one but two of these Reece's peanut butter cups inspired cheesecake. It's started off with an Oreo biscuit base which I pressed round the sides two for more biscuity goodness I then added a generous cup of peanut butter to the cheesecake filling before baking it. I found a cheeky tip if topping the cheesecake with sour cream/sugar mix and baking it a little longer to create a yummy sweet layer on top before smothering the whole thing in chocolate ganache.. Super yum. Perfect for any Americana party!
