Whilst sitting at the train station today, my $2 7eleven coffee in hand, watching the couple to my right show a little too much PDA for such early hours of the morning, I got to thinking about just how single I am, and the poor decisions that lead me to not finding 'the one' in life. I then got to thinking more into just how much our generation love to play games and love to moan about being fucked over, and then at 7:45am, I had a silent rant in my head. I don't understand how someone can moronically use and waste someone's time with no guilt. Time is the one thing you can't get back, and for someone to abuse that Gift in someone's life just can't situate in my mind. We only have one life, and for the majority of us who are not into these 'casual hookups', when it comes to someone coming into their life, awakening a feeling with no intentions of seeing how far that can grow does not make sense to me. How can you invest yourself into another persons world with no intentions of being there for long? Maybe this only affects those of us who try to see the beauty in the world, who want to experience new things with someone who in years to come will still be around to reminisce - those of us who actually have a heart. In all honesty, I think our generation only have ourselves to blame when it comes to these situations. We've made it okay to have casual relationships, for someone to sleep with you but with other people also. Girls have become so insecure with themselves, when it comes to be cheated on, miss treated and not appreciated.. We sacrifice our happiness (and mental health.. Holla to my fellow psychos) to forgive this person because we convince ourselves it's our fault this has happened, not theirs. We've made the game of playing hard to get so legit, we couldn't possibly text the person we like first because that would be way to keen,p - forgetting your both playing the same game yet neither will win. Now please don't get me wrong, I myself have also been in them situations where iv been with someone, knowing full well in my heart it's not going to go anywhere. But I am quick to realise one thing - although I have been in love with someone who didn't love me, and I have had someone love me who I had no intentions of loving back .. In all honesty, I couldn't tell you which was worse. I may simply be old fashioned, but I still believe in first dates, second dates and third dates. I believe in meeting the family properly, spending time together and genuinely enjoying each other's company before enjoying each other's bodies. Having said this, this may be down to my own unfortunate upbringing - My mum and dads marriage never involved love. It involved children, a lot of settling and divorce. My nan and grandad on the other hand, their love was epic. They was together form 16 till death did them part, through war, ups and downs, through 4 children, not a lot of money but making the best of everything they had. Seeing the dynamics of the two 'love stories' in my life, I know which one it is I want, and l don't think it needs to be said that it's not my mum and dads. Having said all this, I'm starting to believe that 'love' isn't in the cards for me, I'm also starting to be okay with that. Iv come to realise, disregarding the awful choice I do have in men, when it comes to picking my friends - I'm pretty much a gold medalist. I have more than I could wish for when it comes to the people in my life. Some of these people I am currently travelling the world with. They make me realise everyday that life is about new experiences, pushing yourself out your comfort zone and remembering to take a photo so you never forget. They remind me that we only have now and we need to make the most of it. - not forgetting they make me aware that the shot of tequila I'm thinking about doing isn't a good idea, but I should definitely do it anyway. When it comes to finding my soul mate, iv found plenty. They enlighten a spark in my heart that makes me want to live a million years over as long as these people are still around to live them with me. So it's now 8:27am and I'm in the outer suburbs of Melbourne currently going to work. So as my stop is on is next I shall leave you with this - to the females and males who are stuck in this rut that love isn't going to find them, remember these epic love stories you have with your friends... They're the ones that in 40 years time your be wishing you could go back to and relive time and time again.
