I'll start.

There is a reason why Jared didn’t handled it privately, you know why? Coz if he had none of the audiences would have known the truth and Jared would have been seen as the liar.

Ever since Supernatural ended and Walker began, there is one common question for Jared. Will you be part of Supernatural if it’s rebooted? And each time he had said “I will happily leave everything to be part of it.”

Now, Jensen and Kripke announces the reboot and Kripke tweets that Jared is not part of it coz he is too busy with Walker. When in reality he wasn’t even informed. In reality Kripke, Jensen and Robbie schemed the spinoff behind Jared’s back and then had the balls to blame Jared for not bring part of it.

If he had dealted it privately everyone including his fans and media would have thought Jared is too busy for Supernatural. It would have made all his prior answers to media where he said he will leave everything for Spn, a lie. No one even for a second would have thought he wasn’t even informed, since it was Jensen’s project. This is why when he first tweeted no one believed it, fans thought it to be a joke. No one expected such behavior from Jensen.

That is why Jared tweeted. He wasn’t ready to be that guy who just say things for PR sake. He didn’t want to take the fall for those who didn’t even informed him what is happening? He didn’t want to seem like he lied to his fans when he said he would do anything to be part of the reboot.

Walker just began he needs to keep his image positive he doesn’t want to seem like that guy who doesn’t want to do anything with his old project coz he got new one.

The guy didn’t promote Walker for 6 months coz Sam Winchester was alive and Supernatural was still on. He didn’t want fans to be distracted from Supernatural. this greedy people painted him as someone too busy. Jared is not going to take that BS.

And to think of… if it weren’t for those tweets all of us would have trusted Kripke and Jensen. All would have thought that they asked Jared and he was too busy for it. When in reality they didn’t even inform him.

I’m a grown ass person myself and if that happened to me I would have been way pettier publicly…

just imagine you, your ‘bestie’ and some friends working on the same project for years. Then you all decide to try smth new, but it’s hard to say goodbye and you all agree you would pick it up again later.

And your best friend does pick it up not even a year after, with all your mutual friends involved and no one told you. You find out via twitter and people who assume you are of course part of it are happily tagging you…

Don’t tell me you wouldn’t have exploded.

I’ve been a hat for a couple of years now and over these years I’ve seen a couple of misconceptions about us hats as well as confusion over what exactly a tinhat is, the interchable use of tinhat and shipper, confusion over the difference between us and shippers, and over terms like ‘fence-sitter’ and 'het stan’, so I decided to make this, hopefully informative/educational, post adressing these things and what I would say are the most common misconceptions that I have seen about hats.

I will put most of this under a ‘Read More’ so those who wish to keep scrolling can do so; I do want to give the quick disclaimer before we begin that while I will be using 'hats’ and 'we’ and ‘us’ throughout this post all opinions are my own. 

Ready? Let’s get into it….

What is a tinhat? And what are the differences between a j2 tinhat and a j2 shipper?

Tinhats: I am a J2 tinhat. That means I belive that Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles are in a romantic relationship with each other.  

Shippers: J2 shippers tend to have quite a bit in common with hats and sometimes it’s difficult to tell us apart but there is one big difference: most j2 shippers do not belive that Jared and Jensen are romantically involved. They might like the idea of them being romantically involved, they might call them husbands and say they’re in love with each other but they don’t actually believe they are together, to them J2 are heterosexual married men. 

What about fence-sitters? 

A fence sitter is somebody who straddles the fence between believing that j2 are together and not. Easiest way I can think to explain is somebody who keeps an open mind to the possibility that j2 are together but aren’t 100% convinced that they are in fact together. 

Het stans? 

Het stans, also refered to as, wive stans, are those who stan the wives/the boys marriages to Danneel (D) and Genevieve (G). To them the boys are happily married heterosexual men, and from my experiece most will consider it an insult to even suggest otherwise. 

So now you know what a tinhat is and the difference between hats, shippers, fence-sitters, and het stans:

tinhat = believe j2 are romantically involved

shippers = enjoy the thought of j2 being together but don’t belive they are

fence-sitters = are open to the possibility j2 are romantically involved but aren’t 100% convinced that they are together

het stans/wive stans = believe j2 are happily married heterosexual men. tend to get offended at the suggestion of otherwise

One last important thing before we continue, some tinhats don’t mind being thought of as shippers, some shippers don’t mind being thought of as tinhats, some shippers might also be siting on the fence, and some fans are only here for j2 and their acting and don’t give a damn about their relationships and personal life. Not everybody uses one label or fits into one box and that’s okay.

Now, with what we’ll call definitions out of the way, lets get into some of the misconceptions that I’ve seen about us hats….

So many moments! And these are just some of them! This is in no way a complete list there’s many more hugs, and butt slaps, and touches, and heart eyes, and stories, and slip ups, and inside jokes and whispers that have happened in the past 10 years! 

The 2010′s have had its hat ups and downs, there’s been dry spells and heavy bearding seasons and some dramas but it’s also given us some amazing moments! And through it all one thing has remained steady… j2′s love for each other. Their connection. Their bond. They’ve been together for 15 years, that’s longer than a decade you guys, that’s a decade and a half and they still look at each other with all that love, that’s beautiful ❤

SPN’s strong point has always been the intense brotherly bond between Sam and Dean.  Why else would these two extremely attractive characters not have had a successful relationship with anyone else?  To try to change that, to suddenly throw romance into the mix especially so late in the game, would ruin the show (think how poorly X-Files did after turning Mulder & Scully into a couple).
