So just a disclaimer this was made with me in mind because I just needed some comfort from my dada (Bucky), but it won't use my name nor a specific name so it could be read as an x reader if you want :) but there will be some description and she/her pronouns.
Tw: at some point a sentence talks about being deserving of someone being proud of you (that sentence my goodness is not grammatically correct.) though it's with the sense of the author saying you deserve it if that makes sense? mentions of changing clothes but not described in detail, mention of missions but doesn't go into detail.

"Lovebug I'm home." A voice that is rumbly from hours of missed sleep and lack of use echoes through the small apartment. "Mrrowww" an impatient sound comes from the white bundle of fluff that stretches across the floor to reach for Bucky, who seems adamantly on the search, though the suspicious lump under the blanket on the couch might be the end to his search. The soft sound of Bucky's jacket following his movement as he steps quietly towards the couch, Petting Alpines soft white fur along the way. Bucky carefully lifts the soft pink blanket to reveal a messy head of hair, though through the static of it, a very familiar face appears, and a soft squeak of surprise rings out.
"Hey sweetheart, what're you doing under the blanket?" A small shrug ruffles the blanket, shifting it further down the girl who was hidden underneath it, letting the colder air of the room bite at her face and shoulder. "Don no dada, jus fel smal." the little one mumbles while shifting her hair away from her face to get a better look at her dada. "That's alright doll, let's get you into comfier clothes yea?" A very enthusiastic nod of the littles head as she makes grabby arms towards Bucky is a warming sight to see.
The small shift from laying down to being held causes the blanket to completely fall from the couch entirely. A soft meow of interest from the white cat can be heard from a spot near Bucky's feet. The floorboards of the old apartment creak with each step that Bucky takes, holding his little one tightly in his safe arms, a soft push at the door that leads to the small playroom. The dresser in the corner, a soft pink in color with small yellow stars on it, the top and the front is covered in stickers that range from different superheroes to the little one's favorite cartoon characters. Bucky sets down his lovebug on the white rocking chair in the corner while he picks two options of comfortable clothing. "So, I have this one" he lifts a night gown that's a dark purple with a small embroidered grey moon in the center at the top. " And this one" a two piece, a tank top and a pair of pants that are just a plain pink with wavy seams.
The little one hand points towards her desired outfit and confidently says "that one peassss!" Bucky nods his head with a soft smile and a warm look in his eyes. "Of course, lovebug, thank you for using your manners." A proud twinge in his speech, though he's always proud of his little one, even when she thinks she doesn't deserve it. The suddenly uncomfortable day clothes are slipped off, and the comfortable pajamas are slipped on, though not without the cold air taking one last nip at her skin. A soft sigh leaving the little one's mouth, some peace slipping into her features, patently waiting for her caregiver to pick her back up. "Ok sweet one lets go back to the couch and we'll watch some movies yea? you can show me that one you wanted me to see." Bucky slightly hushed voice floats through the air and lets a sense of ease set through the room. His lovebugs eyes brighten at the thought of showing her dada, though she gives him a look that seems akin to disappointment. "Dada, it wa Tinkerbell! I tol you dat alwedeee" her light voice drifts drawing out the last word in her sentence, showing her disappointment more clearly, looking offended at the thought of her dada not knowing Tinkerbell.
During this enchanting conversation between Bucky and his little one, he had picked her up and had slowly moved towards the living room, where they both stood now debating on which blanket to use. A white fluff ball is seen in the corner of the couch, sleeping away, and without a care in the world. "Do you want to use the pink blanket once again lovebug?" her caregiver's voice sighed out as he settled his little one onto the couch. A sleepy nod is given in response, of course Bucky's little one would never admit it to her dada, but she was already feeling sleepy. "Ok, where did that silly blanket run off too." A soft giggle emits from the very cozy looking little at her dada's words, "dada, bwankets can no run way!" Though she was technically correct, that didn't stop the look of bafflement crossing her caregivers face in a dramatic way as he wondered out loud, "They can't?!" he says in bewilderment. The giggles from Bucky's lovebug grow louder at her dadas obvious display of playfulness as she shakes her head no.
Bucky's search for the blanket ends when he spots it on the floor, near where he had first found his little doll, and yanks it off the ground. "Ah here it is! I thought it really had run away." He laughs at his own joke and turns to wrap his little like a burrito in the blanket. The feel of the fabric against her face was comforting and with her dada picking her up, settling her on his lap, and grabbing the remote for the TV off the coffee table made lovebug relax further. He searches for Tinkerbell, as his face scans the screen, he spots just how many movies this fairy has and looks down at his lovebug. "Which one do-" his sentence cuts off halfway when he spots the sleeping bundle of joy in his arms. A soft chuckle sounds out from him; Bucky turns off the TV and sets the remote back of the coffee table. He carefully lifts himself off the couch with his little in tow, though she shifts and mumbles, she doesn't wake. The creak of the floorboards seems louder than earlier now that there's a sense of caution, as the last thing Bucky would want is to wake his sweet baby up.
The bedroom door creaks open as Bucky taps it gently with his foot, he settles his little one right onto the bed and carefully unravels her from the pink blanket. The urgency Bucky uses to cover up his little doll can't be compared to anything ever done on one of his missions. This time though, the shuffling is enough to wake his little, a quiet mumble sounding out from her. "Go back to sleep lovebug, dada is right here, I'm not going anywhere, I promise." with the promise being said in his comforting, gravelly voice, lovebug slips back into dreamland. The feeling of warmth, comfort and a purring cat ease her and cause a smile to appear on her face.
If you made it this far, I hope you liked it! though just like lovebug, you need to sleep, and so do I.
