Youth the pillar and background of any nation. By holding their hands a country wants to move forward than ‘why youth want to migrate’ who is responsible for this migration?? In my blog i am gonna talk about youth migration in Bangladesh. 

Bangladesh the vastly populated country in South Asia with population of around 164.7 million. Among these huge population 30 percent of it is young people aged between 10 to 24(Wikipedia). The skill hard work and determination of the youth can change the fortune of the country. But the society failed to guide the youth or failed to provide them whatever is needed to make them enough strong to support the nation. It have been argued to invest heavily on youth for their quality education and health services for economic and social gains. If they are equipped with necessary skills,good health and effective choices they present an enormous opportunity to transform the future. Bangladesh is a third world Nation now considering as a developing country where 40 percent of people are under poverty line(Wikipedia) almost half of the total population. So it is very tough for that 40 percent of the population to have education where living their normal life for them is very very tough. Although in pen and paper we know that 65 percent of the people of Bangladesh are educated. But the quality of education is very low. There are lots of NGOs school who provide free education for children who cannot afford for education. And most of them only receive that basic education and end their educational life only few of them take further education. And others if female get married and the male are put into work by family members to support the family. Bangladesh has one of the world’s highest rates of early marriage. According to United Nations CEF figures 60 percent of Bangladeshi girls are married before the age of 18 and 12.6 percent of children worked as child labor.

Bangladesh is a democratic country though but the youth in Bangladesh do not have opportunity to speak up express their thoughts their wings are locked by family members or either by society.

The only way they find to unlock their wings or freedom to express their thoughts is by migration. They want to move on. This migration can be either internal migration(migration with in country) or external migration(migration outside country)

Everyday thousands of people move to capital city of Bangladesh among them the highest percentage is youth. Because they do not see future where they live they move to bid cities to empower themselves where they have a greater chance of finding a job suited to their skills could find greater opportunity to enhance their career experience other cultures and cultivate a more open mind. There is always something new to do no matter what your interests, for music junkies, go to a festival, see your favorite artist at a large venue multitude of galleries and museums to pursue.

But the main focus for maximum middle class youth in Bangladesh to move on abroad usually after finishing their intermediate or A’level maximum focus and aim to move abroad for higher education. So is it only about better education where in Bangladesh every year many private universities are growing to provide higher education to the students. So what is this universities are for? Why students want to migrate to another country for better education than?

The answer for this question is ‘’They want to move on’’ they found obstacles each and everywhere opportunity level is very low no freedom of speech. One thing that maximum of youth said in common is that they want to move on from the country and made home away from here and build there career there wished to serve their talent and hard work for another country.The mind set structure of this thing is created by the society or family. In our country on many houses the children are grown up according to a flow chart set by their parents from their dinning time to sleeping time to their future whether in future they are going to be doctor or engineer many want to move away from this flow chart life and only way they found is by migrating if they find any single opportunity to move from the country they tried to grab it with both hands to move away to get freedom on life to stretch their wings and fly on their own rather than be a kite with holder on other hand.Sometimes this migration happens due to family poverty.It is like to support the family the family member made investment on someone in family who can go abroad especially Middle East country for work and send money back to country so that his or her family member can live a comfortable life annually 500000 workers move from Bangladesh to other countries and from their huge number is youth.

Unemployment is another reason for youth migration.4.4 million youths face unemployment in Bangladesh.One in tenth of the countries 44 million strong youth faces unemployment new research from world vision Bangladesh claim.World vision said that 72 percent of the youth population of Bangladesh are interested in receiving vocational training to help them gain employment.(collected from an article in Dhaka Tribune Jan 2019).Job opportunity is very less in our country and competition level is very high it is like for a single drop of water many are opening their mouth to remove their thirst.Even sometimes talent does not get valued in job sector money,strong link and strong reference are preferred rather than talent to get rid of this corruption and spoiled society many preferred migration as a solution.

Frustration is another issue for youth migration and this frustration is maximum time created by the society. Society created many blockades and barriers.The 2018 quota reform movement demanding regarding  reform in the Bangladesh Government services. The students came up with Five point demands. Their demand was that quota should be 10 percent not 56 percent, Vacant position should be filled from merit list if eligible candidate is not found from quota,No special examination for quotas,the age limit must be the same for every candidate,No candidate can use quota privilege for more than once(collected from (Wikipedia). All these demands are very valid and logical but the government do not show any respect to these demands students were brutally beaten up those who stand up to speak for these demands were badly beaten up girls were harassed. Not only in quota movement the student movement where students from class 1 to University came down to street demanding safe road was treated same they were also beaten up very badly police shoot rubber bullet,tear shell. Leaders and workers of government party attack students with weapons. What they wanted to do is to create fear among the youth but do they only created fear. NO, they created hatred and put a scratched on every youth’s heart.It made them feel like this is not the place where anyone would hear them. And the best way find to get rid of this frustration is Migration.

Mashrafe Bin Mortaza the name which brings joy to everyone face.The best fast bowler Bangladesh have ever produced.The current captain of One Day Internationals for Bangladesh National Cricket Team.Mashrafe was born on october 5 1983 beside the chitra river under the Narail district of Bangladesh.From his childhood he was attracted to sports.The sportsman ship he carries is in his gene.The pace and agression of Mortaza as an under-19 player impressed Andy Roberts the former West Indian fast bowler who was acting as a temporary bowling coach for Bangladesh.Under Roberts recommendation,Mortaza was drafted into Bangladesh A team.After one match for Bangladesh A, Mortaza made his test debut on 8 November 2001 against Zimbabwe.Unusually the match was also Mortaza maiden first class match he was the 31st person to achieve this and the third since 1899.In his maiden test match he took 4 wickets for 106 runs on that same series against Zimbabwe he made his ODI debut.From there he never looked back in life.Like his pacy bowling his career also pace up very rapidly, In his early life he used to bowl at an speed of 135km.p.h which gave him the name Narial Express.Mashrafe Bin Mortaza(Mash) is the name of inspiration a leader acaptain who leds his team from the front.He vice captained Bangladesh team in 2007 World Cup.His man of the match performance against India helped Bangladesh progressed to the second round of the tournament.Under his captaincy Bangladesh achieved to have the highest success on World Cup 2015 getting on  to quarter final and to the semi-final of ICC Champions Trophy. Mashrafe first appointed as  captain on june 2009. His captaincy was off a winning start in his first test in charge against West Indies. But injury prevented him from taking part in the remainder of the series.From his debut the only barrier in Mash career was injury.Since his international bow Mashrafe has witnessed many ups and downs of Bangladesh Cricket. Mashrafe got injured countless times during his career and had to undergoseveral major surgeries in his two knees. But each and every time,he came back strong on the field and managed to perform at the top level.Doctors have advised him to leave cricket one more injury could make him paralysed.Thankfully he did not think that way and that his uniqueness passion and love for the game were the main motto for Mashrafe.Unlike the love fpor the game Mashrafe have love for the normal people he not just wanted to develop Bangladesh Cricket but also Bangladesh as a nation and also Bangladeshi people. And its start with by opening Mashrafe Foundation in Narial.The foundation was established to ensure overall development of Narail.The foundation provided prosperity in all sectors including education,health,ICT,tourism,sports and culture,To do more for the people he joined politics.He was an Awami League Candidate in 2018 National Election from Narail 2 and won the election.The success and changes he brings to Banladesh Cricket the same success and changes he will bring to politics as well.He is not just a good cricketer not just a politician he is an inspiration idol of the millions of cricket fan of Bangladesh,

. Cricket the gentleman game.Now many Bangladeshi youth dream to be cricketer to that red and green jersey and explore them on the 22 yard pitch. The dream on this youth eye is created by lot of hard work,fight,struggle.Cricket was introduced to Bengal by the British in the 18th century.After independence the new state endured poverty,famine,political turmoil and military coups intil the restoration of democracy in 1971 which has been followed by relative calm and economic progress.Cricket had to find its way forward amid the tiurmoil but it was helped by successive governments,civil and military which treated its development with some importance.In 1972 the government created the Bangladesh Control Board with a directive to organise cricket in the new country. Bangladesh first official faray into international cricket came in the 1979 ICC Trophy in England.The first full international team to visit Bangladesh was Srilanka in january 1978.In 1979 ICC Trophy Bangladesh failed to reached the semifinal under the captaincy of Raqibul Hasan.On the 8o”s Bangladesh cricket get an ace on the name of Athar Ali Khan.He was a middle order batsman batting mostly at no.4 and no.5 later on he become a regularly opening batsman for Bangladesh.He played 19 ODI scoring 532 runs at an average of 29.55 with  the highest score of 82.Athar own contribution of 47 bring Bangladesh first ever ODI win against Kenya.The first success came for Bangladesh when they won  the ICC Trophy in 1997 held in Malaysia with the lights of some legendary player like Akram khan,Habibul Bashar,Mohammad Rafique, Naimur Rahman.The win changes the fortune of Bangladesh cricket helped Bangladesh to qualify for the 1999 ICC World Cup where they dramatically defeated the very strong Pakistani team created history and stunned the whole world and proved that win against Kenya in Malaysia was not a fluke.On 26 june 2000 Bangladesh become a full member of the ICC which enabled team test cricket. In November 2000 Bangladesh played its first test against India  though Bangladesh lost the test record was created by Aminul Islam Bulbul who had his name on the history the first Bangladeshi batsman to scored a test century. He scored 145 runs in Bngladesh inaugural test against India in 2000 the second highest in nations debut after Charles Bannerman165 for Australia in the first official test match.Then the came a little pocket rocket to Bangladesh Cricket Mohammad Ashraful. He is the youngest player in the history of cricket to score a test century on debut. At times it was very hard to find well wishers for Bangladesh cricket because no one expect Bangladesh to won match but the addition of few players like Ashraful,Aftab Ahmed,Alok Kapali,Shakib,Mashrafe,Tamim started bringing changes and also hope for the audience that yes Bangladesh can win against big team on their day they can wipe out any team. Mohammad Ashraful century against Australia in cardiff 2005 or his 94 runs innings against England on the same series is still fresh and young on many people eyes. The way he scooped Gillespe and Flintoff ball later on Dilshan applied Ashraful shot and that shot got a name Dil Scoop but the shot was first played by Mohammad Ashraful.Their are many special innings of Shakib AL Hasan his century against Newzealand on ICC Champions Trophy 2017 against Newzealand or his man of the match performance against Newzealand where Bangladesh first time ever white wash any team in a paritucular seies he is someone very extraordinary. He took Bangladesh on his shoulder on to a different level by holding the number 1 all rounderrank for a number of years.Mustafizur Rahman the sensational of new generation the Cutter Master.Bangladesh now arrange lucrative cricket tournament like BPL where players like Shabbir Ahmed, Zakir Hossain is being produced and in future more great and talented players will come out and explore in that Red and Green jersey and make the whole nation proud and bring more success to Bangladesh Cricket.
