✦ Fictonaturis / [x]naturis
A term for alterhumans, nonhumans, theriomythics, etc. who instinctually display behaviors relating to fictional or mythical animalistic species. These behaviors are often relating to social / group dynamics, though in the case of solitary species they can also be threat displays, prey drive, courtship, play behavior, etc.
This is not an omegaverse / misceverse term. It has no relation to the dynamics, tropes, or social hierarchy of omegaverse. Fictonaturis is centered on the observed and contextually realistic behavior of fictional animals, specifically animals that do not display human-like behavior or cognition. Fictonaturis behaviors are instinctual, not chosen or deliberate.
What falls under fictonaturis:
Animalistic aliens, such as the xenomorph
Unhuman aliens, such as the heptapod
Fictional animal species, such as the direwolves from Game of Thrones
Pokemon and similar beings
Eldritch beings that retain their species' urges, behavior, and cognition
Dinosaurs and prehistoric animals as represented in Jurassic Park and other fictional media
What would not fall under fictonaturis:
Humanoid nonhumans, such as kemonomimi
Earth animals in a fictional setting
Animals that can shapeshift into humans
