concept: marinette breaks up with adrien badly, in a way that makes no sense and he knows immediately something is wrong. then she self isolates and her friendship with alya is strained, and he realizes it's not inside his head, there is something seriously wrong. attempts talking it over with ladybug but she's off too. so he starts visiting her as chat and she confides things to him that only confirm his suspicion that she still loves him and her break up reasons were bullshit, and instead of him learning the truth they get to a point where eventually she says something self deprecating about herself that's so wrong he pushes back until it's obvious the cat boy trying to console her is her ex.
i want season 7 to be the reverse of seasons 1-5 where instead of marinette trying and failing and chickening out of asking adrien out, it is instead the wacky hijinks of marinette trying and failing and chickening out and flubbing up her words trying to dump him
hi please link me your favorite post season 5 the secret is destroying marinette's life so she self sabotages and breaks up with adrien and fails at moving on and he always struggled believing her but has unresolved feelings he can't fully let go but also some resentment but struggles to actually hate her and finds ways to still be around her despite their history or as his alter ego fics. i've read like four but i need moreeeee.
getting my adrinette cigarette smoke edit ready in case this finale goes south.

non-writers will never understand the mental illness of writing an entire conversation in your head while doing dishes and then forgetting every word the second you open a blank doc
why is it that when im reading fanfic i feel like i have a fairly good metric for if something is characterized accurately but when im trying to write suddenly its like ive never seen this character in my life. would he say that. would he fucking say that. suddenly i have no idea
superhero birthdays 🎂
june you say?
you ever read a fic as another writer and go, god it would be so fun to be friends with this author and get feedback on my work and talk these characters with them and be in a cool little writers' club?
no? just me?

letting go of the sadness allows room in your heart to enjoy all the good memories shared with your grandfather in that house.
ml fic writers, i love you. truly. but i need you to know boulangeries serve more than just macarons and croissants, and there are more savory french dishes than just quiche. hell, the show itself constantly talks about how adrien adores chouquettes. i'd love to see more of these or anything else in your amazing stories.
i love nerdrien but i'm really struggling researching the science-y stuff a dork who has a passion and fascination for physics would love lmao. it's a throwaway background detail that has no real bearing on the fic i'm mentally writing but i want this to be part of his character so badly so here i am trying to make sense of this subject i struggled to ace in high school (i did it but not through any love for the subject matter) and then never thought about again. 🤧😔🫣🥲
can these two get a room
I dont think Adrien was fully ‘acting’ here like Plagg joked
Especially with the ending scene and Chat always being afraid of what his cataclysm can do
I’ve been thinking the same thing!
Chat has been concerning me this season, learning that he is now afraid to tell Ladybug who he is (wreckless driver), fearing his own powers (lady chaos, although he has been fearing them for a while), and now not wanting to burden anyone else with being a superhero.
Early Chat Noir desperately wanted ladybug to know who he was, he was a lot more confident with his powers, and he would have leaped at the chance to have a buddy that can tap in when he’s not there.
Adrien always considered Chat Noir to be his freedom and escape from life. But it seems even now being Chat Noir has become harder for him.
i had this exact thought while watching this. but i totally missed that there have been tiny tiny little signs indicating that he might feel this way, so i'm glad you pointed them out! i feel like the show is softlaunching the crisis adrien's going to have when he discovers he indirectly caused his mother's death and directly marked his father for death. i know the season started out with adrien saying he feels most comfortable and free as chat, but as time has gone on, to me it feels like in the background he has been rethinking some things. especially since one of the reasons he felt that way as chat was because he needed an escape. without his father and his many obligations adrien has had the time to explore real life outside of superheroism. it just makes sense that he'd reconsider, especially being owner of one of the miraculous that is constantly specifically targeted (which is different than having a power not being sought by the supervillain). i think adrien always had this fear of losing people or risking people he cares about, and the longer he's had the miraculous of destruction that fear has somewhat evolved into hurting people himself. (so the crisis he has when he finds out the truth is going to be massive.)
i noted this in my own post, but it's interesting how this episode happened immediately after heartfixer, an episode where chat noir made the decision to detransform and save marinette without any superpowers at all. idk if that'll even end up being relevant but his actions that episode and his comments at the end of this episode makes me think it might end up relating to his thought process somehow.
in any case, since it was the final scene in the episode they're likely to expand upon it later, whether in the few remaining episodes of season 6 or throughout season 7.

wow what a fantastic episode.
i love the role reversal with alya/nino and adrien/marinette. (the season started with adrien and marinette not knowing how to be a couple and second guessing everything and trying to emulate nino and alya and now towards the end of s6, we have nino lying to alya about not hating strawberry and not realizing the difference between debates and discussions and actual fighting because of his parents.) glad it ended with the honesty (a constant theme this season for obvious reasons) but the show tends to write this (mostly) super solid unrealistic teenage relationship between alya/nino so i'm always here for the few times they feel more realistic, even in very minor ways.
i also really like that they didn't sugarcoat the v real problems nino's parents had and it ended in them getting separated and that being the better solution for everyone involved, including their children. i hate when shows gloss over serious relationship issues for the sake of "keeping families together" when it's obvious every single person involved would be better off if they didn't so that was nice.
yay nino character exploration and and a very cool carapace transformation.
marinette finally getting a superhero transformation with one ponytail! she looked so cute, i'm a fan.
it was hilarious watching adrien and marinette pretend they had no clue how to be heroes and were seeing kwamis for the first time. also hilarious as hell because adrien knew marinette was lying because he knew she was multimouse and marinette knew he was lying too, since he was aspik. that part where plagg made fun of him for pretending to be scared of being a hero and called him quite the actor, i died laughing.
i am obsessed with how trionyx's hair is the most parisian fashion model-like hair adrien has ever had.
anyway it was cute seeing adrinette run around rooftops together not knowing they do it all the time, but the thing i'm left thinking about is the final scene. because it's such a character (development? evolution?) for adrichat to go from finding freedom in chat noir (again! something he started the season with in that episode when he was trying to find a passion and discovered being chat was the one thing he truly enjoyed just for him) to saying something like, he doesn't want to impose being a hero on anyone else. it's a huge change from sentiments he would have made just weeks ago, so i am curious where the thought process comes from, how it's related to his father or his personal experience being chat. that thing he said about not wanting to be a hero to nino obviously wasn't serious, but i wonder if there's a kernel of truth to it. is he concerned about other people he cares about being hunted down for their miraculous (a stand-in for the miraculous being targeted is different than a stand-in for any other hero) and being denied a normal life, which he never really had (a sentiment ladybug had always felt more strongly than him because her civilian life did not suck like his did, but i wonder if he's leaning towards feeling the same now that he's finding his footing in life outside being a hero and finally has more of a life as adrien so he doesn't really need to glorify the chat aspect of his life anymore...hmmmm....), or if it's a personal thing, that his feelings about being a hero have become more complex and double sided. (actually, i wonder if it's significant that he says this in the episode directly after heartfixer. or if it matters that in that episode, adrien saved marinette exactly as himself, no hero required. interesting coincidences that maybe mean nothing but idk if the timeline itself is insignificant.) dying to see what the show does with that scene, and if we ever clearly find out what is going on inside his head because i am soooo curious.
Haha it's been forever... I just wanted to post this comic since Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is out
