Is this supposed to be some sort of joke? Because it isn’t funny AT ALL. We did not ‘appropriate the English language. It was beaten into us. The English robbed us of our native language, and this person has the nerve to say that the Irish appropriated the English language? How dare someone who knows nothing about Irish history say something like that! Irish people were forced to learn to speak English in order to be able to get by under British rule. This just makes me so unbelievably mad.
